After many hours and tons of paper, I ran into one source that claimed the Morgan and Boone lines had been disproved. Does anyone know the answer to this question? 3. The following is the info in the Holiday 2003 issue of New England Ancestors in an article "Corrections to _Ancestry of American Presidents_" Stover researcher Roger Cubs writes that Eisenhower's great-grandparents Daniel Stover, Jr. and Mary Hannah were born in Augusta Co., Va. on respectively 23 May 1780 and 3 Jan. 1781 and died there 18 Jan. 1862 and 23 Mar. 1852. Mr. Cubs also thinks the grandparents of Daniel Jr. are not Jacob Stover and Sarah Boone but Daniel Stauffer (b. ca. 1707 in Muckenhauserhof, Ibersheim, Germany, an immigrant of 1732) and Eva Albrecht. The immigrant was the son of another Daniel Stauffer (b. ca. 1685) and Magdalena (Krehbiel) and grandson of Daniel and Barbara (Galli) Stauffer from Eggilwil, Bern, Switzerland. Further Swiss research has been undertaken by Richard Warren Davis of Provo, Utah. If this descent is correct Eisenhower loses not only his kinship to Daniel Boone, but also his only known English ancestry. Does anyone know either Roger Cubs or Richard Warren Davis? It would be interesting to get them on the list. Perhaps the Boone Society could contact them? Regards, Steven C. Perkins

    1. Ivan of Trafalgar has the answer to some of your questions about the Book
    2. Greetings: I have had some questions about the Hammon book about Battle of Blue Licks since my posting. Below is the reply from the National Treas. of The Boone Society about who might be mentioned in the book. Hope this helps. The Boone Society website is www.boonesociety.org for information about ordering the book. ###################### "The answer to your question is most definitely. Although it was not the purpose of the author, Neal Hammon, to establish a definitive list of men who fought at the Battle of Blue Licks, he has compiled the names found on the lists of several sources. So, his may be the most complete listing available. Besides that, the story is gripping and the appendices are fascinating. I expect printing to begin next week with the book ready for mailing two weeks later."

    3. I agree with Daniel that there are many discrepancies about Tecumseh's death and whether his body was actually found. You might consider reading A Sorrow In Our Heart by Allan W. Eckert - a highly documented narrative of the life of Tecumseh. According to Eckert's extensive footnote 765 (several pages), there are at least 45 different accounts of Tecumseh's death - all differ to a degree or more.
