    1. [BOONE-L] Boone/Adams/George
    2. Hi to everyone! I have gotten some GED files from Ancestry.com and other sources that shows the lineage of my gggrandmother, Katherine E. Adams George as going back into the same line as Squire (the frontiersman Daniel Boone's father) comes from. But when I check out the Daniel Boone Genealogy sites, I can't find my 5g grandmother Sarah Boone listed as a child of Benjamin Boone II & Eve Lofter (my supposed 6g grandparents). Benjamin II is son of Benjamin I who is Squire Boone's Brother & Daniel Boone's uncle. Any suggestions? Could the Boone site have overlooked ? I really need the link for Katherine E Adams to Benjamin II. Katherine married my ggGrandfather Newton George. She is the daughter of John Q. Adams & Cathierine Booher. John Q Adams is the son of Samuel S Adams & Susannah Sorbet. Samuel S Adams is the son of Conrad Adams and Sarah Boone. Conrad is the son of Nathaniel. Sarah is show to be the daughter of Benjamin Boone II and Eve Lofter. Benjamin II, is the son of Benjamin I & Susannah Laikin. Benjamin Boone I is the brother of Squire Boone (Daniel Boone's Father). Benjamin I and Squire Boone are the children of George Boone III and Mary Milton Maugridge. Sarah Boone also later married a man surnamed Lamberson. I guess I am just wondering what anyone on this list know's of this connection?! Thanks for your time! ~Karen George Smith

    1. [BOONE-L] Hannah Boone Stewart Pennington memorial monument.
    2. Hi Booners, Here is an update on Nell's efforts to get a Hannah Boone Memorial Monument. She has worked very hard on this. Anyone who wishes to contribute can e-mail her at [email protected] and she will tell you where to send your contribution. Geraldine Ingersoll< Willard B. Ingersoll< Minnie Boone< Theodore Warner Boone < Daniel Boone< Daniel Morgan Boone< DANIEL BOONE THE PIONEER Dear Group: Our planning trip to Tompkinsville, KY and Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Park was a success. We met with Cindy Thrasher, park site director, on Wednesday, March 28, and she gave us the guidelines we will follow for design and dedication of the new Hannah Boone Stewart Pennington memorial monument. The design will begin in the near future. Tom Evans will be doing this. Due to much restoration in the part - cleaning the old gravestones, replacing the stone 12" fencing, moving a huge monument placed in the park a couple of years ago, and with equipment being in that area much of the summer, we will not want to set the new stone until after they get that complete. So we will have another update when a design is complete. Or, if you want to write to me in the meantime, please do so. Some of you have already sent your contributions and those checks will be deposited in a designated account this week. A BIG THANK YOU TO THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO SHARE IN THIS HISTORICAL FUNDING. And just for your information, a new standing plaque under Plexiglas has been installed near her grave, which gives the accurate story of Hannah Boone and her family settling in that area of Kentucky. Also, the park visitor's center has the book, A Fork in the Road, written by E. Clayton Gooden, 1972, a minister, writer and military veteran, who spent his boyhood in Kentucky. This is the story of John and Philip Mulkey coming to the area from North Carolina, and includes the story of the church they built. Hannah Boone and her husband and family are also written into this story, as they were members of Old Mulkey and Mill Creek Baptist Church. I have not completed reading the book as yet, so will give you a review a bit later. God Bless each of you. Nell Beck Truitt

    3. Hello Ivan of Trafalgar and everyone else, This is where I live! About one third of Laurel Co KY is the Daniel Boone National Forest. BEAUTIFUL. And the Wilderness Road is our main street now here in London, KY. History of it is: The buffaloes had a path about 5 feet wide that came across Cumberland Gap and traveled on into KY. The Indians used this path and it was called the Warriors Path. Then Daniel Boone used it to come into KY and it was called Boones Trace. They made it wider to bring wagons through and called it the Wilderness Trail. THEN they named roads and it is 229 and US 25. Kin to the Boones WAY back there when Mary Polly Boone married John Couch. Story is Mary Polly was part Indian.
