Bork" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Subject: Link to Volume II 1889 Oregon and Washington History Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Just a note letting you all know I've finished transcribing the second volume of the 1889 Oregon and Washington books I've been transcribing. I did the second volume first, due to the large amount of biographies in it. The first url is what is going to be the permanent page for both volumes. It includes the index for both volumes and a search engine that covers all my sites. As you can tell, it's not finished. "http://www.usgennet.org/usa/or/county/wallowa/1889historybooks.htm" The second page is where Volume II starts but it does not have the index on it. "http://www.usgennet.org/usa/or/county/wallowa/VolumeII.htm" If you know of any other lists that would like to know of this resource, could you pass it on. Thanks, Janine M. 1. [BOONE-L] Boons in Georgia
    2. Trying to float my 4 great grandfather's name out for all Boones and Boons to see in hopes I can find a father for him. I have Needham Boon and a relative James(brother presumed) that came from NC to Jackson County Georgia around 1800. They were paying taxes there in 1804. Needham married Elizabeth T. Robertson of Jackson County and they moved woith their relatives Nancy Robertson Hickman and husband Jacob Hickman to Louisiana where they settled in Ouachita Parish. Needham fought in the Louisiana Militia for the War of 1812. He was a farmer in Ouachita. He named his first son James W..I assume that that is his father's name. Does anyone know anything that connects this man with his family in NC. Margretta Clark Aviles

    2. Michelle Boyd asked about Sarah Boone & Thomas Brooks. It would help to have a little more to go on. About when and where would you expect them to appear? I have info on a lot of BOON - Brooks marriages that took place in MA & VT in the late 1700s. But I don't have a Sarah m. to a Thomas. There was a Susannah and a Salla and a Sally Boon in my research. I also have a large amount of info on Boon(e) from NY, MA, CT, VT which I have submitted to RootsWeb but it hasn't been posted yet. I can send it as an e-mail attachment. It is in Microsoft Word for Mac using the Tables format. Charnee Smit [email protected]

I am beginning to understand what you mean. I have a cousin that I just found while researching the family genealogy, and he has given me some of the connections but anything beyond gggGrandfather John Q Adams (married to Catherine Booher) is from other sources. This cousin is a professor, and I'm sure has very carefully checked on his info( far more so than I...since I am just a beginner, and a complete amateur). So, the Boone connection is from other researchers & is info that I have found. I don't know how far I'll go with all of this. I really do love it. I Just started a couple of weeks ago researching the family genealogy. But I do not live in the state that the majority of my ancestors came to (PA) upon arriving to US and most of them stayed in PA. So, I am very limited in being able to actually get documents, of much. I am relying on computer related research. I come from rather large families, on both sides, and knew that I would run into others researching the same families. I was hoping that someone would have something solid, at least enough that we could research in collaberation then. Genealogy is enjoyable, but I already finding that it can be a bit disheartening! Ah, well! In a few weeks all my work load (for my job) will be eased up then maybe I can do more. In the meanwhile, thank you for you help!!!! Have a great one! ~Searching Family Tree surnames... I have similar info from some sources, but also have found birth info on "my" Sarah, on LDS and in some area of Ancestry.com....but evidently submitted by other researchers, but showing Sarah as being the child of Benjamin II and Eve Lofter! So, I don't know! This Sarah is my connection to the Boone family, so it is very important! She was supposedly born Jun 2, 1772 and died in 1840 in Armstrong County, PA, which is were the majority of my ancestors are from (in the US that is), and Benjamin & Eve were born in Berks County PA (and died there as well, I believe)! Unfortunately the woman seem to have more errors and less documentation than the men of those days! With so many Sarah's in the family (with birth years not too far off), I am concerned that she has "merged" with one of the other Sarah's in record. The Boone lineage is fairly well documented so, if I can just make this connection then, it's sure help! Thanks for the help from you and everyone else on this list. I really appreciate it! I would be careful about any gedcom file you get, especially from online. Use it as a jumping off point, or a place to get ideas to look, but don't take any of it gospel, until you can get sources AND check out those sources yourself. There are a lot of people out there who do not use or check sources and just take their information on the say so of someone else or family tradition. Good luck!
