Hi Folks, The BONNER Surname DNA Project has its first laboratory result for a donor for whom descent is claimed to be from the William Bonner who married Jemima Carr. This DNA type did not match any of the existing types at the first 12 markers, and thus created its own new type...type "M". This type falls near types D, E, and H, and probably is remote enough that it is unrelated to them. Connection to any of the other types is nearly certainly excluded. I would like to verify the result by sampling a descendant of this William Bonner who descends from a son of his other than his son William James Bonner (b. 1829), if such a person can be found and tested. I think this is good stuff. I don't know about anyone else, but when I search for BONNER genealogical information online at WorldConnect or GOOGLE, or wherever, there are a few clans that I see over and over.
