    1. Robert Emmett Bonner, Sr.
    2. Can anyone offer any help of the following family? If you can, please get in touch with me. I would like to know more about this family. Thanks, Kenny Shackleford Robert Emmett Bonner, son of Robert Lee Bonner and Sarah Jane Kinney, was born in Carroll County, Georgia during August 1984. He is listed at age 5 in the 1900 Federal Census for Polk County, Arkansas and age 15 in the 1910 Federal Census for Polk County, Arkansas. Robert married Margaret M., maiden name unknown, estimated before 1920. She was born in Ireland about 1897. Robert Emmett and Margaret Bonner listed in the 1920 Federal Census for Newport County, Rhode Island living at Fort Greble on Dutch Island. Robert is listed as 24 years of age, born in Georgia and Margaret M. is listed at age 23, born in Ireland. There are not any children listed in the household. Fort Greble was a Coast Guard Battery during the Spanish American War and later became an Army fortification during World War I. Reduced to nothing more than a military rifle range during World War II the fort close during 1947. The fact that Robert is listed living there would indicate that he was in service at that time. It is very likely that he met Margaret while serving in the military and may have married on Dutch Island. The dates and locations of their deaths are unknown. Four children are known to have been born to this union. All that is known of them is as follows: Robert Emmett Bonner, Jr., born September 14, 1920 in Rhode Island and died August 13, 1999 in West Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island; Martin Lee Bonner, born September 02, 1923 in Rhode Island and died March 19, 1999 in Wakefield, Washington County, Rhode Island; Margaret Myrtle Bonner, born after 1923; and Shirley Bonner, born before 1930.
