    1. [BONNER] BONNER DNA Project update / List statistics

    3. Hi Listers, Today we have the results of yet another BONNER DNA test. The results are another of the "Type 'C' " variety. So we have a case of confirmation here, in my estimation. As results continue to arrive, it seems that in this case we will be able to develop a litmus test for various BONNER lines. Right now there are 5 types of BONNER DNA, and 3 of these have been confirmed. Clearly, the ability to identify and confirm DNA "types" is dependent on getting volunteers - hint hint. At some point in the near future, I will begin to add links from the confirmed DNA type(s) to their known originator(s). But for now, you can view the updated results table, and the nifty little diagram which shows how genetically close the various BONNER groups are, & &c. by clicking here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gbonner/bonnerdna/ <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gbonner/bonnerdna/> (Just as a pointer, it should be noted that it is clear that the name BONNER had independent derivations. The separation between groups "A" and group "C" (for example) are so large that the common origin between the two groups (if exists) PRE-DATED the use of BONNER as a surname. But groups "D" and "E" are fairly close, and some relationship may be found between them, although neither of these DNA types is confirmed as of yet.) Since I am writing, I will take this opportunity to point out that there are about 50 people subscribed to BONNER-D, and another 125 subscribed to BONNER-L. With so many subscribers, I would think there would be more activity on this list. That's another hint hint from your friendly BONNER ListAdmin :) I am sure there are several/many of you who have never posted your line or query. Please do. You never know what help you may get, or what help your post my provide to others on the list, or anywhere into the future of the list. Cheers, Gregg Bonner BONNER Surname DNA Project Group Administrator
