    3. My ggreatgrandfather William Robertson, born 1790, in the area that is now Laurens County, S.C., married Elizabeth Bonner, born 1793. The couple moved to Lowndes County, Al., early in the 1800s. I have been researching the Bonner name for several years, attempting to learn Elizabeth's parents' names. I have found several families in Wilcox County, Al., where Elizabeth and William's son Lee lived. William may have owned property in what is now Wilcox County. Recently I was sent this info taken from the book on passports. >"Passports of Southeastern Pioneers 1770-1823" >Page 189 >Georgia Passports >Executive Department, Thursday 4th August 1803 On a letter from >General DAVID DICKSON Jackson County 28th July 1803 ORDERED >That a Pass Port for WILLIAM DICKSON to travel through Cherokee >nation be prepared >ORDERED >That Pass ports be prepared for the following persons-One for >SHERWOOD BUGG BONNER to travel through the Creek nation-One for >WILLIAM ROBERTSON Esq. to go >into the Creek, and one for DANIEL MCMURPHEY to go to the same place >which were presented and signed. Does anyone recognize the name Sherwood Bugg Bonner? The William Robertson, Esq., could not be my ancestor because my William would have been only 13 at the time of the passport application, but there may be a family connection. I will be grateful for any information or help.
