Where did Elisha Bonner come from? My 6th Great Grandfather Elisha Bonner married Alice Rose in Bradninch, Devon, England in 1771. Elisha Bonner was listed as a sojourner (a travelling worker?) in the parish records. While there are other Bonners in Devon I have so far been unable to find any record of the birth of Elisha Bonner. The only reference I have been able to find prior to 1771 for an Elisha Bonner in England, is the coroners report for an Elisha Bonner (the Elder) who died in St Pancras 1769. I have not been able to obtain this report yet. Circumstantially it appears quite possible that Elisha Bonner originally came from London,as two of his sons an Elisha and a Samuel appear to have moved from Devon to London in the early 1800's. There appear to be a number of Bonner birth/marriage references in the IGI in the church of Old Church St Pancras. I wonder if there is any Bonner researcher out there who has any information on the origins of Elisha Bonner or the Bonners who used Old Church St Pancras, London.
