    1. [BONNER] Sarah Peyton Bonner post and reply
    2. With kind permission of Harold Davey, <[email protected]>, here is a copy of his message re Sarah Peyton: >>According to "The Peytons of Virginia", Sarah Peyton m. abt 1742 (1)Capt. Henry Snoad, who the book stated d. 1752, Beaufort Co, NC. However, subsequent to the 1976 publication of the book, other information has been submitted indicating that Cap. Snoad may have d. before 1752 (there is mention of a probate in Beaufort of Snoad, but the dates are unclear) and Sarah m. (2) Col. Thomas Bonner (bef 1720-1787), presumably before the birth of their son, Benjamin Bonner. Sarah's father was Benjamin Peyton which would account for her naming one of her three children by Snoad, Benjamin Snoad, as well as her son by Thomas Bonner, Benjamin Bonner. Benjamin Peyton was b. abt 1705, possibly in NC, & d. in Beaufort, 1748. He was the son of Robert Peyton, b. abt 1689, Gloucester, VA. He was the son of Maj. Robert Peyton of GloucesterCo, VA who was b. 1641 in Rougham, Co. Norfolk, England. Descendants of Sarah Peyton Bonner would be eligible for membership in the Peyton Society of Virginia.<< Please note a reply from Robert and Hazel Bonner, "We do not believe that Thomas and Sarah Peyton Bonner are the parents of our Benjamin Bonner of Amelia County, VA and Granville District, NC. We are still searching." Marilyn Symonds
