    3. My great grandfather was Charles Freeman Bonner born in Ga. around 1860, married Nanny Jane Ferrell of Smith Co. Texas in ardmord Ok around 1883. I am not at home right now (where all my Genl. material  is stored. ) Have lots of Bonner names and dates back to 1720. I will check the James Bonner for you and let you know. It makes me feel good to hear from people with the same name connection. A person reaches a flat place in their research then all of a sudden someone puts a piece of the puzzle together an a new spark arises. That is where I am right now with my great grandma NannyJane(Ferrell) Bonner. She had one brother two years younger than her. They were in   Indian territory Ok. around 1880. Nanny Jane 's father was William Ferrell. Charles Freeman Bonner and Nanny Jane ceased  as a couple around 1920 and she was living in Hill Co tx. around the Aquilla area. I still live there, it is located about 22 miles north of Waco Tx. and south of Hillsboro Tx.. Again I will ck on the matter of James Bonner and let you know. 1. [BONNER] Thomas Bonner of Amelia and Halifax Counties, VA
    2. Gregg Bonner
    3. Dear Listmates, This (below, see post-script) is a copy of an old message from this list. I wish I could include this note in the right thread, but because my email address has changed since then, I don't think there is any way I can now reply, except to make a new thread. I am just re-iterating the subject line here. The original message talks about a Littleberry Bonner who died prior to 1807. I find only one Littleberry Bonner in the WorldConnect databases, and it has this in the 'sources' section: === Abbrev: Halifax County Court Records, Plea Book 25 Title: Halifax County Court Records, Plea Book 25 Page: 183 Quality: 3 Text: March 1807; Peter Clark and Nancy his wife, Elizabeth Bonner, Amy Bonner, Lucy Bonner, Robert Walton and Patsy his wife, Molly Bonner, and Darkey Bonner, sisters of the half blood of Thomas Bonner and Littleberry Bonner, dec'd. versus Sally MCommack === Sisters of the half blood means half-siblings. So if the Halifax record of Plea Book 25 is accurate and accurately represented, then Thomas and Littleberry are half-siblings to those girls named. Note that this is somewhat at odds with the family re-construction offered by Marilyn in her original post. The son Thomas could not be full-sibling of Amy, Nancy, and Molly; Son Littlebury could not be full-sibling of Lucy and Elizabeth. Son John was already dead by 1807, so no information about the identity of his mother can be garnered from these records. I haven't seen the original Halifax County record, so I can't say more about it. But I want to speculate on the family in general. There is a City of Petersburg Chancery Court record: === Plaintiff(s) EXR OF ROBERT BONNER ETC Defendant(s) AUGUSTINE BURGE ETC EXR OF S LEATH ETC STEPHEN LEATH === In this record there is mention of one Littleberry Bonner. If this is the same Littleberry Bonner as the one in the 1807 record (above), then there is about a 100% chance that this family is the same genetic family of Bonners as mine. My Bonner family is from Prince George County, Virginia. And nearly all the names in the City of Petersburg Chancery cause described above (more or less - the thing is 105 digital images long, and I have yet to read it all) are Prince George families, and have known connections to my Bonner family of that place. I have no specific reason to conclude that it is the same Littleberry Bonner except that I could find no other at WorldConnect. But in any case, this message should give some improved insight into which wives of Thomas Bonner gave rise to which of his children. And just for completeness, the surname list for the City of Petersburg Chancery cause in question as provided by LVA: BIRCHETT BONNER BURGE EPES FENN GRANTHAM LEATH LEE TATUM TEMPLE TENCH VAUGHAN WELLS YOUNG Gregg Bonner P. S.: From: Symonds <[email protected]> Subject: [BONNER] Thomas Bonner of Amelia and Halifax Counties, VA Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 13:00:44 -0500 References: <[email protected]du> Is this line set out below connected to any of the four in the DNA message (William Bonner, b. ABT. 1730; Thomas Bonner, who m. Mary Heath and also m. Jane Green; Col. Henry Bonner, who m. Nancy Ann Cate; and John Bonner, who m. Sarah Hicks)? This Thomas Bonner had three wives, the first unnamed as yet and two later wives named "Elizabeth". Does anyone else have ties to these Bonners? 1.  Thomas Bonner. Thomas Bonner was born possibly about 1738. He married Unknown (--?--) possibly about 1760. Thomas Bonner married Elizabeth (--?--) in or about 1770 in Virginia. This is the person mentioned in the deed filed in Amelia County in 1779. He married Elizabeth (--?--) probably about 1783. This wife named Elizabeth is the wife mentioned in Thomas Bonner's will. Thomas Bonner died at some time between the date of his will, 16 March 1791, and the date of its recording, 25 June 1792, in Halifax County, Virginia. Children of Thomas1 Bonner and Unknown (--?--), first wife, were as follows: i.         Thomas; born around 1762 in Virginia. ii.        Amey; Amey Bonner was born in Virginia around 1764. She was not bound out in 1792, and so was probably at least twenty-one years old; m. Chesley Grant 1803.4.7 in Halifax County, Virginia. The ceremony was performed by Hawkins Landrum. This may have been a second marriage for Chesley Grant. The Halifax County Marriage Bond Register #1 contains a record for the marriage of Chesley Grant to Tillithey Kidd on the fifth of December 1787. Bondsman was James Grant, and witnesses were James Kidd, Anthony Gresham. Tillithey Kidd signed her own consent.[2] iii.         Nancy Ann; Nancy Ann Bonner was born in 1766; m. Peter Clarke Senior 1786.2.18, in Amelia County, Virginia. Ann Bonner wrote her own consent on the marriage bond dated the 16th of February 1786. Witnesses to the consent were Jno. Royall and Saml Pryor. The surety was William Clarke.  The Rev. Devereux Jarratt performed the marriage rite.  Several children were born of this marriage: Thomas M. Clark, who married Peggy Henderson (daughter ofEdward Henderson); John Clark; Sterling Clark; Jincey Clark; Elizabeth Clark, who married Edward Henderson (son of Edward Henderson); Roland Clark; Daniel Clark; and Peter Clark Jr. Nancy Ann Bonner died either 1826 or 1827 in Halifax County, Virginia. This was the first appearance of "Nancy Clark's Est." in the land book. The estate reported a tract of 89 acres on "Lawsons Ck. Palmer &", eleven miles south of the courthouse, and a 85 acre tract on "Jeremy's fork, Palmer &" and a third tract of 50 acres adjoining the tract on Lawsons Creek. iv.         Molly; Molly Bonner was probably born around 1768. She was not bound out in 1792 and so was probably over the age of 21 years. Children of Thomas1 Bonner and Elizabeth (--?--), second wife, were as follows: i.         Lucy; Lucy Bonner was born between 1770 and 1771; Lucy was not bound out in 1792, so she was probably born about 1770. ii.         Littleberry; Littleberry Bonner was born between 1771 and 1773 in Virginia. He died prior to 1807. iii.Patsy (Patty); Patsy (Patty) Bonner was born around 1776; m. Robert Walton 1793.2.5 in Halifax County, Virginia. iv.         Elizabeth; Elizabeth Bonner was probably born between 1778 and 1780 in Virginia. v.        John; John Bonner was born between 1781 and 1782 in Halifax County, Virginia; John Bonner died between 1803 and 1805 in Halifax County, Virginia. Child of Thomas Bonner and Elizabeth (--?--), third wife, were: i.         Darcus; Darcus Bonner was born probably about 1785. Darcus Bonner married Francis McCormick, son of Michael McCormick and Sarah (Sally) (--?--), as evidenced by the marriage bond issued 1809.8.19 in Halifax County, Virginia.  The bondsman was "Alexander his X mark Douglass" and Witnesses were "John his X mark Willison" and Alexander Douglass. Darkey Bomar signed for herself. The couple were married by the Reverend Charles Lovelace. Darcus Bonner died in the period 1851-1860 in Halifax County, Virginia. Marilyn

    3. Dear List, Unfortunately, a probable malware-promoting link has made it to the list. I have informed the powers that be at RootsWeb of the need to expunge the message from the archives, so that the troublesome link contained within, and the one in the "From:" field will not be preserved. I have also put the offending party on 'moderate' so that it won't happen again. However, this will not remove the email from the Bonner list memberships' folks' email boxes. Please understand that this issue is ALREADY being addressed at the list admin level and the RootsWeb level. We are doing all that can be done. All you can do (to help) is to delete the message without opening it. Or if you have already opened it, then please delete it without clicking the links. The worst thing you could do (besides clicking the links) would be to reply to this list about it. That would only add to the list "pollution", and would also make another copy of the bad links for people to mistakenly click. DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST (or anyone else) ABOUT THE MESSAGE THAT GOT THROUGH! This should be the ONLY message that goes out to the Bonner list concerning the prior message. ROOTSWEB STAFF: Please expunge this message also from the archives once the other message has been removed. For reference purposes, I have included the offending email below, in post-script. But I have altered the URLs displayed so that they should no longer be infectious. Sorry for the trouble. Please help by just deleting the message from your inbox, and doing nothing else. 3. Wish I could help you.  My Bonners came in to Texas about 1832.  I am mainly looking for William Henry Bonner. Boner, b abt 1852, Ohio and married Sarah E. Cox on September 11, 1873. I'm looking for any information on James' ancestors.  Also, only have information for one child, Harriet Etta Boner, born in 1877, Preble County.  If you have any information to share regarding James L. Boner's ancestors, I would appreciate your assistance.  Thank you, in advance.
