I did not know he was hanged! I am also a Bonnell descendant. According to the records given to me by my mother, inherited from her mother, Anthony B. Bonnell, Jr. was my great, great, great, great grandfather. I have no information on Daniel at all, though according to the research I have done, Anthony was not listed as a son of Anthony, Sr and Mary Ann Mills. Do you have research showing this so that I can download on to a ged extension? I found what I found on roots.com. He had a great grandfather named Daniel also. This one was married to Marie Izambert. They had John Bonnell as a son and he married Honora Barton according to my records. They had a son named Anthony and he had Anthony, Jr. Which Daniel are you referring to. My records indicate that the younger Daniel was a member of the House Assembly in 1782. He was also one of the founders of Screven County when they created the new County on 12/14/1793. This is the only mention I can find of him in my reco! rds. This is listed in the Department or Archives and HIstory of the State of Georgia in the book "Pioneer Days" by Clyde Hollingsworth, "A History of the Early Years in Screven County" p. 13., p.16. His father, Anthony Bonnell, Sr. is mentioned in the same book as a citizen voting on the county seat, p.21 and as a commissioner. I do have copies of a book, though I don't have it's title, that show that Anthony, Jr. and Daniel were brothers and also had siblings named: Elizabeth, William, Rebecca and Honor. It simply lists his birth as c.1777, it was unknown if he was married and he died in 1824. He is not mentioned in his father's will which was probated in Screven County on July 8, 1809 by Archibald Mills and his son, William as excutors. I think Mr. Mills is a son-in-law. Bequests were made to William, Anthony, jr. Honor Bryant, and REbecca Lovettt and someto his Grandhilcred. Apparently the elder Anthony also had a brother named Daniel as well as grandfather. In the foot! notes of this book it states that he and his apparent brother, but it is spelled Daniel Bonneil were amerced by act of legislature in July 1782. The print is not real legible and I am not sure what being amerced is. It does state that at the time Daniel was serving in the legislature as REpresentative from Effingham County. I hope this helps. Whatever book the copy is taken from it is on page 39! The excerpt seems to be a history of families as the next topic is John Boone and begins to give his family history. It is interesting that my records show he did not die until 1824. If you find any more info, I would like to set the record straight.
