Recently, a DNA Test has Corroborated with some of this over-200-year-old paper trail. I'm from John's son (#5) George and I had a DNA Test (12-Marker) in 2006. I did NOT match with ANYBODY in the Bonnell/Bunnell line at the time! And, once I saw and understood better of what DNA could & could NOT do, I upgraded to a 67-Marker Test. Fortunately (for both my scientific & emotional well being ;-), a person who was in son (#6) William's line had a test and proved to be a 100% match! Although this latest test was only 12-Markers (to my 67-Markers), it agrees with the theory that we are related. Hopefully, this latest member will increase to a 67-Marker test to tie this closer. As more DNA tests with Males in John_RWS's line are submitted, we should be able to clarify these murky branches of the tree. PLEASE, if you are a MALE in this line, consider a DNA Test, and FEMALES, please 'coerce' the Males if they need a nudge to do this!
