    3. It's certainly possible that there could be unrelated families with similar names. Look at all the Smiths <g> One of the Bunnell/Bonnell-related stories I read somewhere is that they descend from a Protestant Walloon family in what is now Belgium. And some Bonnell lines are certain that they are descended from French Huguenot Bonnells. Surnames: BONNELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JCF.2ACIB/225.1 Message Board Post: Charles Edward Bonnell in my line went to Quebec -- or Ontario. He was the son of William Franklin Bonnell Jr., who was postmaster of Gagetown, Queens, NB. He was a first cousin of my G-GF Thomas Medley Wetmore and was age 60 when he remarried in Toronto in 1907. Digging through my Bonnell file, I discovered this from Joan G. some seven years ago: - Walter Sr. died in Montreal in 1890 @ 60 yrs. Birth then around 1830. I also have found a William Bonnell, merchant, in Toronto, Ontario, on the 1871 Census with his wife, again a Mary Ann, (Muirhead) who was born in Quebec. Plus some children. I had assumed this William & my Walter Sr. were brothers, but ... Hmmm. Maybe the father of your William? Have you checked the Toronto census? Best, Warren
