The Doomsday Book and other ancient documents in England list numerous estates held by families of the BOND name. They held estates in Cornwall, Dorset, Essex, Kent, Hants, Berks, Bedford, Suffolk, Gloucester, Northampton and York. In several of these counties they held two or more estates. Whether these were held by a few wealthy families or by as many families as there were estates, was unknown to the researchers that I've been able to reference. Many of the more distinguished BOND families from roughly the 15th through the 18th centuries trace their lineage to Earth and Holewood in the County of Cornwall. -Donald Phillips Bond
