john h bond and sylvester bros,syl and family may have moved with other bonds unknown to me,but they did move with other family members,not bonds,hartsocks,kilgores,and brocks.jonathan henry,son of syl rode horseback behind his father,as he told us,the women had to sell out their holdings and follow thereafter as the confeds were after them.they could have had some religeous reason against slavery.i dont know.i did find sylvester on the owsley census directly next to o.p.bondabout that time.(not sure maybe 1860s)i have always known of oliver bond thru my searching and was surprised to see him listed as son of wm bond of sc.where is the connect?it shows wm sc with about same b.as wm w.bond.i have reason to brlieve that we,as a family have a greater interest in over-the-mountains ky than we know.i am searching a jackson connection from harlan co to the bonds.cant get parent of our only union soldier ancestor in all of my 16 southern families.i suspect very strongly a va connection.it's all too close.anyway,i've rambled enough.i might add that i was told our bonds came from wales,were coal miners,3 brothers came over.where did we get wellington?there are some wellingtons married to bonds.we should start looking at middle names.they do have history and avenues to info.ihave gotten many leads from mid names.wbond@cyberhighway.net
