No relation to any of her Bonds. Posting this hoping it might help someone. I know nothing more than what it reads. BOND GENEALOGY: In the year 1719, Squire William Bond, first known ancestor was born. He married Elizabeth Gordon, in 1743. The sons of William Bond and Eliz. Gordon settled in VA, KY, IN, IL, MO, TX, and TN. One sister of William Bond married a McCreary, from whom Gov. McCreary of KY descended. Stephen came to TN in 1834 and died in Memphis. George, a Physician in TX, had no superior in the state. The Maryland branch were Authors and Lawyers. Nicholas Pirtle (Bond) served in the Creek War under Gen. Hickory Jackson at the battle of Horseshoe Bend. One brother and nephew were with Jackson in the battle of New Orleans, under Gen. Coffee. Several nephews were with Gen. Houston at San Jacinto. All were privates except one who was a Sargent in the War of 1812, in the Indian Troops. The original stock were Austere Presbyterians, though several decendants have been Methodist Ministers. Every branch has had distinguished Physicians and Surgeons. The chief characteristics of the Bond family, have been love of justice and law; love of home and reverence for their women relatives. None have been great men, but all have been gentlemen. William Bond, born 1719 married Elizabeth Gordon (born 1723) in 1743, and settled in VA. CHILDREN: Stephen, George, Isaac, Sarah, Elizabeth, Nicholas Pirtle Bond, born 1779, William, and 5 others. Nicholas Pirtle Bond, born Mar 5, 1779 and died in AL in 1830. Married Margaret Fryar (born in PA in 1781 and died in Shelby Co TN on Sep 9 1862). On Dec 18 1800, in VA, near Harper’s Ferry, went to Knoxville, TN; thence to Limestone Co AL, where Nicholas Pirtle died. His wife and children then came to Shelby Co TN, were she died; known as Grandma Peggy. CHILDREN: Samuel, John, Washington, Melinda, Newton. John Bond (born in Knox Co TN) married Susan Elizabeth Massey in Limestone Co AL on Feb 16, 1832. CHILDREN: Nicholas Pirtle Bond Ellen Preddy?? Bond John Nicholas Bond; married Maggie Shipp Susan Margaret Bond; married Ch. Ph. Winkler William Edward Bond; died at age 11 Robert Donnell Bond; married Fanny Board Newton Henry Bond; married Mary McCoy Sarah Anne Bond, married ? Graven Malinda Zula Bond; never married Fannie Parmelia Bond; married Joe B. Mayo Elizabeth Love Bond; married S.F. McKenry Mary Lucy Bond ??? I have copied it exactly as it is shown.
