Hi, Tom et. al: I have a copy of An American Family by Roger M. Williams, which recounts 4 generations of Bonds, down to Ga. Congressman, Julian BOND, b. 1940. His father was Horace Mann Bond, b. 1904; his father, James Bond, b. 1863, Anderson Co., KY. His mother "Aunt" Jane was a black slave belonging to the wife (Belinda Arthur) of Rev. Preston Bond. Rev. Preston BOND, a Methodist minister, was among the most prominent citizens during the first 50 years of Anderson Co. His father William F. BOND (Jr.) (b. Cumberland Co., VA, 1786) was the son of Wm. BOND (Rev. Sold.) of Hanover Co., VA & Frances BALLOU of unk. Wm. Bond, Sr. may have had brothers named John BOND & Steven BOND, but we don't have documentation for sibs. They may have gone to Guilford Co. NC, and Swain Co., NC, according to Florence Solomon Rice. Nova Scotia connections do not jump out at us at this time . . . any other takers?
