I've been list manager for the BOND E-Mail List through MAISER and then through ROOTSWEB for over a year now. Currently I have overextended myself by getting involved in too many projects. I also have been trying to manage as many as 20 different surname lists through Rootsweb. I've recently transferred some of these lists over to other interested parties. These are all lists that I started (because no one else had the initiative to start lists for the surnames I was interested in). Anyway, I would like to pass on the duties of being the list manager for the BOND list to someone else. I'd be glad to correspond by private e-mail with persons who may be interested. It does not require a lot of time--just an understanding of how the lists work, and then helping people subscribe and unsubscribe from the list (only if there is a problem). The lists are computer-generated, and people can subscribe and unsubscribe on their own without any other intervention, but when people follow the wrong procedures or else make a typo in their message, then the list manager needs to help out. Rootsweb manages over 1500 surname lists plus lists for various counties and other interest groups. Their staff cannot manage individual lists, so it is helpful to have someone take on this duty.
