My Great-Grandfather was Joseph (Joe, or Jo) Andrew Bond. He was born in Henry Co. Missouri in 1863. I am trying to locate, of certainty, his father. One source I have calls him William E. Bond, but I can find no record of anyone with his name in Henry Co.when reading the 1850 and 1860 census. Another source I have, Joseph's death certificate, says his father's name was John. I can find a John W. Bond, son of Joseph Bond, in the 1850 census. I can find Joseph Andrew's mother -- Mary Margaret Clark -- daughter of Andrew Clark. But, I can find no record of a William, or John, married to Mary Margaret. The matter is complicated further. The father of Joseph A. Bond was shot during the civil war. He was on his way home to see his new son (Joesph). I am unable to find his service records, because I am uncertain of his name. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thomas Bond lpbond@pldi.net
