Hi Bond researchers, It has been published that Tabitha Bond, widow of Mastin Bond, married Larkin Munday on 30 May 1852 in Hamilton County, Illinois. Thanks to Jean Bushnell, a Mundy researcher, I now have evidence that shows that this Tabitha was not the widow of Mastin. Larkin Mundy died during the Civil War. In December of 1862, his widow Tabitha filed a pension application in which she stated the following: That she was 29 years old. That she married Larkin Mundy 30 May 1852 in Hamilton County, Illinois. That her name before this marriage was Tabitha Bond. Based on this evidence it is obvious that the Tabitha Bond who married Larkin Mundy on 30 May 1852 could not have been the widow of Mastin Bond, as she would have been 70 years old in 1862.
