Hi Chris, I'm an American, but I'm in Wellingborough until February. I'm tracking my BONDS (with an "S") ancestry while I'm here. Thus far, my family went to the colonies around 1750ish and the name had an "s" (bondS) even then. I'd assume the Bonds name was once BOND, but I haven't confirmed that as of yet. Tell me something, have you isolated a place here in Britain that the BOND name originated? I know years ago, most of our ancestors lived in a village and never moved very far from home. As a result, most of the village was kin to eachother potentially. Therefore, most surnames came from the same geographic regions of the British Isles. I'm curious if you've been able to establish where the BOND name came from...it might just be that my name came from there too. Thanks, Loren S.
