Hi Chris, I don't know where my William Bond came from, but I am strongly suspecting that he may have been of the Bond ship building family of England. Briefly - he was born 1655. In the late 1600's he was a ship's captain sailing in and out of New York. At one time he was the storekeeper of the fort at NY and he was a surveyor for the city and colony. He settled in Ulster Co., NY where he died around 1640. He had three daughters: Jane, Susannah and West. I have seen records written and signed by him and he appears to be educated, and used proper English. If this rings any bells, or if you have any suggestions I'd love it. Phyllis J. Miller
