Bond born 1776 Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 3.0 16-bit for Windows sub 38 Genie, You mentioned "Notes on Charles Bond, Sr. and his descendants, from 1733" on Microfiche with the LDS Library. We have an LDS Family History Center here. I have not heard of this but will try to order it from Salt Lake to take a look. I did just receive the The Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy 1750-1930 CD #192 from Bouderbund. As usual they always list an early year and then have only a couple of listings for that year. Haven't found the Bonds I am looking for in that but may need to take a closer look. Just like a needle in a haystack, sometimes things can be overlooked. The information I have: Charles Bond b abt. 1712 married in 1734 in Goochland County, Virginia to Mary Parks (dau. of Thomas Parks.) Charles Bond died in 1774 in Surry County, N.C. Children: Jessee, Nathan, Charles Jr., John, Mary, William, and Thomas Bond. (One of the children of Charles might be William Bond's b 1776 father but then who is the father of Charles and so it goes.) Jesse Bond b abt 1750 in Albermarle County, Virginia and died 1781 killed by Indians in Washington County, KY; married Mildred Crane in 1776. (I have a Walton listed as his wife also. Was he married twice?) Children listed: Nathan, Walton, Lucy, Jesse Walton, William Thomas Bond b Sept 25, 1766 and John Bond. Bear with me for the rest of this email, it may get very complicated. Edward Bond b Feb 16, 1621 married Mary Moore. Their son was Benjamin Bond b Feb 20, 1686 who married Ann Paradise (father: John Paradise.) Benjamin Bond had a son Joseph Bond who was born in Pennsylvania. He married in 1739 in Pennsylvania Martha Rogers. Joseph Bond died abt. 1760 in New Garden; Guilford County, N.C. Children of Joseph Bond and Martha Rogers were: 1. Edward Bond b Sept 26, 1740 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania; married August 16, 1764 in Guilford County, N.C. to Ann Elizabeth Mills. He died May 6, 1821. They were Quakers while in N.C. their son William was born Nov 16, 1771. (So I can rule this William out.) Children of Edward Bond were: Benjamin, Keziah, John, Edward, Anne, Jessee, Joshua & Joseph. (This information comes from the Quaker Meetings CD.) 2. Benjamin Bond born 1742 (I have nothing else on this one.) 3. Ruth Bond born 1744-45 4. Stephen Bond born 1750 married a Maiden. They were Quakers and members of Deep River Monthly Meetings in Guilford County, N.C. Two children listed for this couple. Must be twins: Benjamin and Rebecca b June 31, 1788. This couple ended up in Carroll County, Virginia. 5. Ann Bond 6. Samuel Bond b Dec 2, 1753. He moved with his family to Surry County, N.C. and they were also members of Deep River Monthly Meetings for the Quakers. 7. John Bond b May 30, 1755 in Bucks County, PA. Married Jane Beeson January 26, 1778 in Guilford County, N.C. John Bond died 1795 in Knoxville, Tennessee. This couple had a William Bond b Dec. 5, 1789. (This one is out.) I have elimated Joseph Ballenger Bond b May 17, 1756 as William Wellington Bond's father. Joseph's son William was born in 1779 and married Elizabeth Ramsy. That leaves me with Stephen or Samuel or another name from the Amherst area that I have overlook. I do feel that I am getting closer to solving this puzzle because some of the pieces are beginning to fit. All of the other descendants are falling into place but with William it is taking a much longer time. After William Wellington (not sure of this middle name, either) Bond and Margaret Davis were married, they moved to Russell County, Virginia (now Scott County) in 1810. He was sordained a deacon at the Cooper Creek Regular Baptist Church on April 6, 1814. I have all the information from there to my present descendants. You probably have this but from Goochland County, Virginia Book #15 Virginia Land Records page 44: Charles Bond in 1733 had 250 acres in Goochland County, Virginia. Please send me what you have for correction ( I am never sure if my information is correct and I always like to double check) and missing pieces if you have any. Thanks once again, Mary Lou FColby@aol.com --part0_907976881_boundary--
