3. Hi Everyone, After so many queries regarding the book entitled " JOHN BOND, Sr.of Southern Mississippi " by LOUISE PATTERSON ANDERSON. I have just spoken to her , asked her if she would consider reprinting another edition of her book...her answer was " I want and need to update JOHN BOND, SR. line..I am now teaching kindegarden until the end of this school term. I will update and print another book ..but cannot say when it will be finished..in otherwords anywhere from now to 15 years is a possibility". I told her there was a tremendous amount of interest in her book and much regrets that they can't find the information, but that I was and will continue to help anyone in need. Shirley

    1. Re: BOND
    2. Shirley, I am interested in helping out with the Bond book, but do not know if my Richard Bonds are descendants of John Bond, yet. Still I'm willing to help out. If nothing else, then I will have contributed information that somebody else may be able to use. Hopefully, they in turn will be willing to help me. You see my Bond and Chandler Lineages are rather twisted together, in several places. So far, I have the following Bond/Chandler marriages. This spans two generations so the Time frame is rather wide (1790-1830) in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Arkansas. Just to keep things interesting I'm now finding out about probable links in Kentucky and Tennessee. Noah Bonds + Fannie Chandler AKA Menoah Bonds and Frances Chandler Ritta Bonds + Joel Chandler (m. 1820's, SC or GA) Vardy Bonds + Agnes Chandler? (m. 1820-1830, GA or ARK) Noah is an uncle of Ritta and Vardy. Ritta and Vardy are brother and sister. There are more, but right now I can't remember who they are and I've packed my stuff because I'm getting ready to move next week. Wait a minute - I have a web page. It's not complete, but its with my Chandler Genealogy . Any advice would be welcome and I'd like the email address of your friend. Are you sure she won't feel a little overwhelmed if we all start sending information to her? Becky Rramsey113@aol.com

    2. Shirley, I think everyone on the Bond List that is a John Bond decendent should write to MS Anderson and include their family information to be included in the new edition, giving her the help she needs to make it bigger and better and at the same time, correct those mistakes that are in it now. If we all help, maybe we can all reap the rewards soon. Gaye

Is there any information on the Children, or what became of John, if you know where they were buried, or pages of Archieves that might help me check this connection., I would appreciate it. All my BOND families, are in Nova Scotia, Canada, but I believe originated at one time, from the Mass. area, in the coastal communities around Boston. Gloucester has a BOND Street, and believe the Benjamin Bond, or his son Capt.Charles Wallace Bond, may have lived there. 2. Dear Patricia, YES, I am one of Mastin's descendants. He was my great-great grandfather through his son Richard. Actually, put another great in there (my g-grandfather, Hezikah Bond, was Mastin's grandson). Don't have papers here at work so can't remember off the top of my head. I have just about given up trying to trace Mastin (sometimes spelled Martin, Maston, etc) back any farther than Kentucky. Do you have that info? I would gladly share what I have with you. Good luck! 2. Hi Patricia, I am also descended from Mastin Bond. He was born in Virginia, son of John Bond and Susannah Wade who were married in 1780 in Halifax Va. John died in Kentucky about 1824, 1826. (I don't have my records in front of me). If you would like to have more info, let me know. I have the children and grandchildren of John and Susannah, copies of marriage and estate records etc. I would like to share info with you - do you have anything on Elisha? I haven't able to find out much about him. There are LOTS of us out there researching Mastin. Phyllis in Phoenix leotaphyls@aol.com

    2. With FTM you can choose any report (eg. desc.) and then export a GEDCOM from that. Andrew Bond

    1. Re: Split a Gedcom
    2. Family Origins Software will also allow you to pick and choose which people you want to put into a gedcom for export. It also creates a standard gedcom which is downloadable into any type of software program. It also gives you the option of whether you want to zip the database or keep it as a disc spanning database. I have a basic Family Tree Maker software program. I had to buy it in order to open the files that people would send me. The newest Family Origins program now has a convert feature so I don't really need FTM anymore, except that I like the way it makes wall charts. That's about all I use it for. I'm not selling anything. This is my unsolicited opinion about the software I'm using and why.

    3. Hello all, The question has been asked, "How do you extract only certain family lines from your Gedcom without having to send the entire database?" I don't know if Family Tree Maker will do this, but I use Brother's Keeper and there is a "split database" option that lets you do this. You can take out only the people that you want to include in the Gedcom, in case you are sending only a particular line. If anyone is interested in Brothers Keeper you can get it from my genealogy page at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bay/7170 Jeremy A Fountain jeremy7@geocities.com
