BOND (RS) of Lawrenceburg, KY & Hanover Co. VA. Have much info from Wm. down but not in the other direction. Have you further information regarding Wm. Bond Sr. & wife Mary in Cumberland Co. VA?>From Annals of Southwest Virginia, 1746-1786 and Washington County, 1777 ->1870, by Lewis Preston Summers, page 1303, abstract of deeds "Page 355. >September 15, 1794. Wm. Bond and Fannie his wife to George Shelley, $600. >300acres on the waters of Beaver Creek." (Note: Edward Bond, mentioned below, >also owned land on Beaver Creek). My curiosity about this note is in reference to wife of Wm. BOND being either (or both) Judith SANDAGE/SANDIGE or Frances "Fannie" BALLOU/BALLEW. Were there witnesses on the deed to indicate relation to either of these families? In addition to much info contained about the BOND's in Lydia Bond's book, there is also much in Forks of Elkhorn about Bond's and other related families. We also had good luck at the Orlando PL Genealogy Vertical files - the Beatrice Commander Collection contained her research on the Bond's. Jeanne Miller BOND, Tampa, FL. PS. Phyllis - Thanks for the horsethief (Edw. BOND)! Reminded me of the saying - "Even the straightest tree may have crooked roots."

    2. Hi, So you know someone is reading your postings, My father was William Edward Bond, born 12/24/16 in Atlantic City N.J. His Father was Lester Ashton Bond born 1888, also in Atlantic City. Lester's father was Lafayette Bond, b June 21, 1854, d. August 30, 1928 in Atlantic City, married to Katie Ashton 1854-1925. We think Lafayette may have come from Philadelphia, but have no documentation We have hit a dead end with Lafayette. With the similarity of names, is there a connection to your Bonds. Thanks so much. My BOND names are Solomon BOND (no known birthdate) married to a Francis ALSUP in Wilson Co. on October 9, 1815. I know of only one of his children, Asaph BOND (from whom I descend) that married a Mary A. CARNES on February 24,1846 in Rutherford Co. TN. I thank you in advance for any response to this query. 3. Hi, It was sure good to here from you. My relation come down the same way. From John Bond to James Bond to William Henry Bond, whose first wife, my great-grandmother, was Elva Armina Leavitt, to Charles Elwidor Bond to Arlo Elwidor Bond To me, Delos E. Bond. A friend of mine here in St. Johns is married to a Lee family member here, his name was Brower. He was quite the Genealogist and came in one day and called me cuz. When I ask him what he meant by it, he proceeded to tell me that his great-great grand father was named Osiah Brower (name could be somewhat different) who married a Ruth Calvert. I check in our Family History Center and sure enough found her married to Osiah Brower. This was done, I believe, after she arrived here in the states. My records indicate no dates between John Bond and Ruth Calvert. This is about all I know of this generation. Thanks for your help. 3. Sandra, Don't feel like the lone wolf! I can't travel either. Have been looking for my grandfather, John Francis HILL, and his ancestors....but first I have to find him. He was married to a Martha WELTON, who is just as elusive. I have no birth data on either one. All I know is they were living in Coal Hill, Johnson County, AR when my mother, Nona Isabelle HILL, was born December 24, 1888. As for Bond....well, my paternal grandmother was Mary Frances (Mollie) Bond (Bonds?) and have no birth data there either. I have seen her name written Bond and Bonds, so am not sure which one is correct. She was married to Hugh Watson Nichols and they were living in Ozark, Franklin County, AR when my father, Vard Rollin Nichols was born February 14, 1887. And then there is my MANNING/ST.GEORGE line......another brick wall. If any of this rings a bell, let me know.....and lots of luck. ginny -----Original Message----- From: SJLTDL@aol.com <SJLTDL@aol.com> To: BOND-L@rootsweb.com <BOND-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, May 30, 1998 9:26 AM Subject: Re: BOND-D Digest V98 #58 > Hi! cousins, you all make me so envious knowing about family all the way >back to the 1700's.
