    3. Hi again Bond folks, Wow, I feel as though we are really starting to sort out the southern Bond families, huh?! I wanted everyone to know that my line is on the Tex Dick list. He got information from me, and I from him, so that's where some of the Bond info on the list comes from. If you're interested in seeing my line start with me, Valerie Austin, and go through the female lines to Thomas Carroll. Go to his mother -- she was the daughter of Lucinda Bond. > <http://w3.atlcon.net/~texdick/> Let's keep the info on southern BOND families coming... Anyone have Bonds intermarried with CARROLL, HEARNE, JORDAN, or SHELL families?? Valerie Austin

    3. Glenn, I think we have corresponded before, and now I am wondering if their is a connection of my Bonds to what you had sent to Valerie on the Bond mail list. Allen Woodard Bond was in Madison Co., AL by 1816 & in Shelby Co., TN in about 1822 after his first wife died. He died by May 1837 in Shelby Co., TN. My Banister Bond married Margaret Siveley in 1813 and was in the 1816 Census for Madison Co., AL Territory. He was also on the tax list for either 1809-1810 in Madison Co. AL. Found no divorce papers but there is a newspaper notice saying he would no longer be responsible for Margaret Siveley's debts. Also found two more Bond marriages (Possible Relation) Samuel Bond, Harriet Beel March 2, 1825 and Lucinda Bond married Samuel West July 31, 1822. These were in Madison Co., Alabama. Below is what I have found on my Banister but have hit a dead end, and would like to know if the book might have any mention of my Banister? I would also like to know if Notes on Charles Bond, Sr. And His Descendants From 1733, by Catherine Sams Bond Gheesling, 1975 is available for purchase. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Banister1 Bond was born 1772-1779 in Probably Virginia or Tennessee, and died August 13, 1879 in Madison Co. Iowa. He married (1) Margaret Siveley May 12, 1813 in Madison Co., Alabama. He married (2) Rachel Martin Clary May 10, 1821 in Madison Co., Illinois. Notes for Banister Bond: I have a copy of handwritten notes that Raymond Bond got from the family of Mable Fine. He feels that Mable has written these notes pertaining to the family. They are as follows: Banister Bond Sr. born in VA., February 1779. Fought in the war of 1812 at the battle of Great Bend MS. under General Jackson. VA to TN from there to AL; AL. to IL; from IL. to IA. Married to Rachel Martin Clary in Menard Co., IL about 1820. She was a widow with four children. She then gives the names of the Clary children and their children and birth dates. She also states that Andrew Jackson was named for General Jackson. She also states that Rachel was born Feb. 1794.

    3. Valerie, Regarding Lucinda Bond. I have Bonds in GA & MS & also have corresponded with Tex Dick. He has included my line of descent on his page & took much of his Sartain-Bond information from records I posted to the Sartin List on Rootsweb. Much of the information on the early Bond families comes from a book called: Notes on Charles Bond, Sr. And His Descendants From 1733, by Catherine Sams Bond Gheesling, 1975. This book contains a wealth of information and source documentation on the BOND family which came from Goochland County, VA and settled in Elbert, Franklin, Madison, and other counties in Georgia. It lists: p. 23 Lucinda Bond, under age 14 in 1822, shown as daughter of Allen Woodard Bond an his first wife. He was b. between 1760 and 1770 according to census records & married first to Sally Murry on Feb. 18, 1798 in Fluvanna Co., VA. Allen married 2nd to Martha Wilson on Feb. 24, 1826 in Shelby Co., TN Allen Woodard Bond was in Madison Co., AL by 1816 & in Shelby Co., TN in about 1822 after his first wife died. He died by May 1837 in Shelby Co., TN. Other named siblings of this Lucinda are: Harriett Bond, William Bond, Norman Bond, Robert Bond, Tallassee Green Bond, Silvester Bond, John M. Bond, Mosella Bond, Sara Ann Bond, Joseph Bond, Elizabeth Bond p. 39 Mrs. Lucinda Bond, found in the 1860 Carroll Co., GA census who had in her household a child named Harrison Bond, b. ca. 1850. This Lucinda seems to be related to Lindsey Bond, b. 1801 in GA who married Susanna Sartain in Madison Co., GA. Here connection to the other Bonds is not definitely known. p. 79 Lucinda (F.?) Bond, listed as daughter of Francis King Bond. He was b. on Dec. 22, 1827 and married in Elbert Co., GA to Susan H. Black on Dec. 14, 1845. He is buried in Banks Co., GA. Lucinda was born ca. 1849 and may be the Lucinda F. Bond who married Marion A. Daniel on Nov. 27, 1866. This Lucinda, daughter of Francis King Bond, had these siblings: John Willis Bond, Jamres R. Easton Bond, Elizabeth M. Bond, and Francis H. Bond. Hope this helps. Glenn Gohr ggohr01@mail.orion.org

    3. All right, Lets try this again. Hi There All, I have watched the letters come in these last couple of weeks. It's exciting to see so many people from the different areas of the country working together to search out their lines. I have notice lately, there are many from the south and many from the north east. I commend you all. My question is, is there any one out there who can give me information on the Bond line in Lancashire, England area around 1820 and before? Particularly a John Bond married to a Ruth Calvert. Married 3rd May 1830. Their son, James was born in Blackburn on 25th, August 1830. Certainly there are others out there who have additional information previous to John. I invite all to come forward. Thanks, Delos Bond

    3. Hi folks, I'm sending this to the list, as it may be relevant to anyone with Bonds in the GA area. I have communicated with Tex Dick in the past, and we have several joint ancestors. One of the things that intrigues me is that he has a lot of Bonds whose people married into the same families as my Bonds did, in the same place, same time... I'm betting that these Bonds are related to Lucinda in some manner we have not yet found. Any thoughts?? 1. URL for Tex Dick Web Site
    2. I just tried the site URL of Tex Dick again and it is as I had it: <http://w3.atlcon.net/~texdick/> There really is no title on the first page but if you go to the surname index the top of the page says it is Tex & Linda's genealogy on the WWWeb. I have no idea why Yahoo does not have it. Good luck, Charlotte

    2. My written records have his web site URL as: <http://w3.atlcon.net/~texdick/> I think that is what I posted this afternoon. However, the name of the site is NOT anything about Tex Dick. I do not have a record of what it is named. I first found him at another site address and it took me months to find him again as he had apparently changed servers. I have not checked this recently but he was there only a month or two ago. Guess I better try it again. Hope this helps, Charlotte

    2. Hi Valerie, How nice to hear from you! The "fact" that Lucinda Bond and Frances Bond were sisters comes from family information only. My grandmother told me about her and a Mayfield family cousin of mine also told me about her and gave me her birth information. He had gotten it from a descendant of Lucinda that lived in north east Louisiana but when I tried to contact her she had moved. I will have to search through stuff and see if I can still find her name. My Mayfield cousin was named Stephen Mayfield and he moved without letting me know and I have lost contact with him too. All of this was done some 6 or more years ago. My husband and I have both been in poor health and I did not do any family research for years until I recently got a computer. I used to go to the LDS Family History Center often but we have not been able to get there for many years. I knew approximately when and where Lucinda had died but I found the exact date on the web site of Tex Dick in Georgia. Contact him. His URL is <http://w3.atlcon.net/~texdick/> I contacted him and I do not think he believed me when I told him about Frances -- no real proof -- but you & he are both descended from Lucinda and he will probably be thrilled to hear from you and his web site might have some data you did not know. Back when I was more active in family research I had decided that a Robert Bond and his wife, Agnes from Abbeville County, South Carolina that came to Franklin County, Georgia were a possibilty to try to trace. I thought there was a strong possibility they were Frances' parents. Thanks for writing and yes, we will have to stay in touch, and try to work together on this. Sharing always makes family research a lot easier. Warmest regards, Charlotte Schick

    3. Well COUSIN, am I glad to hear from you! I do have a descendancy ged.com for Lucinda, if you would like it. Sounds like we are stuck in the same place. Your information looks, on first glance, substantially like what I have. For your trivia collection, I descend from both Lucinda and Wiley, and John Carroll and his first wife, Huldah Hearne. That little fact adds a lot of confusion to my mind! Where did you find the information that Lucinda and Frances are sisters? This could help us track down the family... At any rate, I have lots of information on Lucinda's descendants, and would love to share it if you are interested. There are some Texas cousins working on this line, too, though I think they are all Hearne descendants, and not Bonds. I am taking it for granted that we should work together on this line, cuz, as it has been frustrating to work it alone! If you have a ged.com or FTW file of your line I would love to have it. Nice to meet you, Valerie Austin CTSchick@aol.com wrote: > > Valerie, > The only information I have on Lucinda Bond is that she is supposed to be the > full sister of my ancestor, Frances Bond, born 25 March 1813, in Franklin > County,Georgia. 3. Hi everyone: I see a ton of traffic of Bond family information for the USA, but not much for outside that area. Anyone have links to the Canadian settlers named Bond? I have a few names to link, if anyone has anything in archieves.. Bond; Zinck; Zink; Zinc; Naas; Lantz; Graves; Schal; Schurk;Rodeneach; Leoffler; Kappes;Conrad; Lohnes.. To name a few in the Trees.. The BOND family that I am following , went back from Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada.. Linking along the South Shore of the province. I suspect roots in the area of Gloucester, Mass, as well. There is a BOND road there, one of the oldest roads in the town, with the origin still unknown. My GGFather, Capt. Charles Wallace Bond, had a residence in Gloucester in 1878, and his father may have come from there too. A Benjamin (Sometimes John Benjamin) Bond, born approx 1820's... If anyone has any information, on the family names, or links to Nova Scotia, or the information about Bond Road in Gloucester, Mass (Outside Boston) please let me know..
