Diane, I think we are related through those BONDs of yours in OH & MO...My Alyne(Allen) BOND, which is the earliest I can document, was born approx. 1800 in NY....but I have traced that line to CT Ohio, then Montana, then Colorado, then California and WA. I think they all went West in this pattern because of the various homestead acts for land in those states. Thomas, William, Edward, Julia, Emma, Hattie, Mary, Sarah, George are common through my generations of BOND...which drives me crazy because they are so common....but are not found in those KY BONDS as much...or the VA ones as much...which helps to aid in searching. Family usually followed family....so, because of that, I think we may have a link. Where did your BONDs come from before OH?...and go after MO? Alexis Jacques Camarillo, CA
I am looking for information on James S Bonds born abt 1810 in Christian co, Ky m Ellen Brush in 1827 in Ky. Later he married Annice J Chrisman Aug 9, 1832 in Morgan Ill. and he married Sarah Tuggle in 1846 in Ill. any leads would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Mandeville J. Bond born September 22, 1841 in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. He died December 9, 1912 in Charleston, SC. He married Melita Lucas who was also from Scott County Kentucky the daughter of John and Nancy Lucas. She was born about 1844. Mandeville served with the 9th Kentucky Mtd. Infantry Co. D in the War. He moved to Charleston, SC after the death of Melita with three daughters. His death certificate gives his fathers name as James Bond and the mothers last name as Samuels. I know he is in the 1860 Ky. census as Bond, M in Scott County Ky. Georgetown P. O. Dist. 2. I have been told it is series M653 roll 394 by a friend who went to the regional archives in Atlanta but she did not copy anything else as she is not "into" this and thought that was sufficient. I wrote the Ky. archives but they said they did not have a Mandeville even though I gave them the above info. and asked to look at M.Bond. Talk about a brick wall! Thought that if I could get the census it might give his place of birth. His daughters gave it as Ky. but can find nothing on him. Have asked here before but no one seems to have Ky. Bond until now but me. Any help greatly appreciated. Would love to find out more on them. Bouy Peeples peeplesb@conterra.com

The most distinguished families of the name in England, for the last two or three centuries, trace their lineage to Earth and Holewood, in the County of Cornwall; and some of the old writers of heraldy speak of "strips antiquiima Bondorum" of that County. Hi, Bond cousins, How about trying to make a connection this year. We are pretty sure they all started in England to maybe we can get some help from someone in England. Let us get on some of the English lines and see if we can get help. I see we have a date that came through 1-2-99, 1560 England. I think we can do it let us get busy. If they came from England that is a small country so we are all related someway. Happy New Year!!!! Let us start digging. Phyllis(Scottie)

john h bond and sylvester bros, syl and family may have moved with other bonds unknown to me,but they did move with other family members, not bonds, hartsocks, kilgores, and brocks.jonathan henry, son of syl rode horseback behind his father,as he told us,the women had to sell out their holdings and follow thereafter as the confeds were after them.they could have had some religeous reason against slavery.i dont know.i did find sylvester on the owsley census directly next to o.p.bondabout that time.(not sure maybe 1860s)i have always known of oliver bond thru my searching and was surprised to see him listed as son of wm bond of sc.where is the connect?it shows wm sc with about same b.as wm w.bond.i have reason to brlieve that we,as a family have a greater interest in over-the-mountains ky than we know.i am searching a jackson connection from harlan co to the bonds.cant get parent of our only union soldier ancestor in all of my 16 southern families.i suspect very strongly a va connection.it's all too close.anyway,i've rambled enough.i might add that i was told our bonds came from wales, were coal miners,3 brothers came over.where did we get wellington?there are some wellingtons married to bonds.we should start looking at middle names.they do have history and avenues to info.ihave gotten many leads from mid names.wbond@cyberhighway.net

Dear Alice, WELCOMEWELCOMEWELCOME!!! I, too, descend through Mastin, Richard, Elizabeth, etc. We have been accumulating several of the Mastin and/or Richard (he was rather prolific) descendents and are considering a "work-shop" type of get-together this summer in Hamilton Co. I am in the process of losing my mind, as my husband and I pack to leave our home of 28yrs in Wisc., to move to Ill. (Paris, Edgar Co.Ill), ironically about 2 hrs N. of Hamilton Co. We move 01/13 and I don't know when I'll be set up with a new service. Please keep in touch! I would LOVE your Wade info! I will be On-Line until the 12th. Thanks! Sandra Brandt 910 E. I am looking for a Bond family in the Springfield area, where the rural street there is named for the family. The father may have been listed an electrician, as I was told by my father he had something to do with the wiring of the monument if Springfield. He had married a Patterson girl from Peoria, and their daughter, Carrie or Cary, married a Harry Chapman.Their daughter Berniece Chapman was my grandmother. She ended uo in Chicago, where she married my grandfather Edward L. Swikard I believe, maybe around 1903.I have no first names other than the ones I have listed. I'm just hoping that something will sound familiar to anyone.
