OBIT: William Bolen, (b. 04/28/1948 OH - 04/18/2014 SAN DIEGO,CA) -- Born in Newark, Ohio; raised in Kingsville, Texas; grew up in Southern California. Lung cancer ended his life just shy of age 66. A great story teller, he recounted riding fence on horseback for the King Ranch, driving a Red Cross halftrack during hurricanes, pole vaulting at Kingsville High School and Texas A&I, exploring caves in Mexico, and playing on the Western White House Press Corps softball team during Watergate. Over 35 years in hotel Industry, he worked up from bell hop to Director of Sales, meeting an astounding list of celebrities. Bill was on the Board of Directors of Save Our Heritage Organization in the early 1980s. He leaves surviving his wife Eleanor. Service at Greenwood, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego, 1 p.m. on Monday April 28th, 2014. Visitation held 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, and noon-1 p.m. Monday, April 28th.
