As you can see, I'm very slow in my correspondence these days. I hope you have already received helpful information from others on the list. Do you know your grandfather's name (or your great-grandfather)? That might help us to make more connections. You can also check the Roots Surname List (RSL). It's a list of people who are researching various surnames and the areas from which their families came. Rootsweb's address is http://www.rootsweb.com You can also check the US GenWeb Homepage at http://www.usgenweb.com/. You can connect to the Wisconsin GenWeb page for state-specific information. I have started researching my father's side of the family. I have the paperwork of vistas, discharge papers, and others like passports with photos for my grandfather's cousin. He was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1907. I actually met him once back in the early-mid 80's. The family genealogist photocopied his papers. He may still be alive at the age of 92 though South America was his next stop all those years ago. But he should still have some family overseas. What is the best way for someone like me to begin searching over there via internet? I also cannot read German nor speak it. Thank you for any help you can give me. Eric Bohn
I am starting a search for the ancestors of my father Stanley James Bohn, born in Luck, Wisconsin Feb 1, 1904. Would appreciate any information.
The following announcement is from Rootsweb. Thought you would be interested since Bohn-L is NOW INCLUDED IN THE THREADED ARCHIVES. NEWS AND NOTES FROM ROOTSWEB THREADED LIST ARCHIVES ARE NOW AVAILABLE. Now you can read 122,813 messages from 877 mailing lists using your Web browser by visiting <http://archiver.rootsweb.com/>. All those messages are from just three months of beta tests -- watch this archives grow with its public debut. This is a remarkably comfortable way to browse through the posts that have been made to the lists. Be sure to use the integrated search engine to find what you are looking for. To use the Archiver you will need to pick a user name and password and you will need to accept a cookie. The reason for passwords and cookies is to keep spammers' e-mail address harvesters *out* of the archives. Because of this password-and- cookie feature, listowners can set up lists to be archived with confidence that they are *not* exposing posters' addresses to spammers. We encourage all RootsWeb listowners to visit the Archiver and then include their lists in the archives. The next step is to start making old list messages available. Thanks to Marc Nozell for implementing the threaded archives. It's great work. Looking for anyone related to William and Mary T. Bohn. He died in 1954 and she lived from 1830-1961. They are buried within Pittsburgh.
Does anyone have a spelling of - BONN? I also am looking for BACHART and coming up empty on this one. Thanks John Bachart

Are there any descendants of Danish BOHNs from Bornholm on this list? Mine were in Nexø as far back as I've researched (last half of 1700's). thanks, Lorna Wallace gangof4@jps.net
I'd love to find the death location of my 4-great grandparents: Johann Valentine Bohn b. about 1759 (based on church confirmation records in York County, PA) died about April 2, 1814 maybe in York County or in Franklin County, PA (where his children lived and his wife died) Catharine Hollinger (dau. of Jacob--which one!!!), unknown birth, will recorded in Greencastle, Franklin County, PA (abt Feb 8, 1825). Where are they buried? Hi Chuck, I recently uploaded a new tree to the website (www.familytreemaker.com/users/k/r/o/Dean-E-Krout/) . But sorry I don't have any references to PAYNE. If you search for Cornelius Sullivan you will find a whole pile of info on Margaret Bohn and John Everly. I don't know if anything exist before John. The Sullivan research is great. You may already have it...it includes some Jennings but no Chuck. Is that your connection to the Bohns? I will post your inquiry on the Bohn list server, maybe someone can help you with your PAYNE (hahahaha, get it PAYNE/PAIN). :-) Have a Great Christmas! Date: 12/11/98 10:20:58 PM Eastern Standard Time From: moocow@megspo.megsinet.net To: deankro@aol.com Greetings Dean...Was researching my EPPERLY line when I came across your FTW web page. As I started looking over the info I noted your reference to the name BONES and another to Montgomery County, Virginia. Have you ever run across the name PAYNE associated with the name BONES? My gg gf Thomas A. PAYNE b. abt. 1850 Franklin Co., VA. m. 10-15-1874 in Montgomery Co. Ellen W. BONES b. abt. 1853 in Montgomery Co., the d/o John H. and either Hannah or Susannah BONES. of Montgomery. Most of my German ancestors came to Montgomery County Virginia much as did your BOHN line, Philadelphia, Frederick Co., MD., Franklin Co., VA. and on to Montgomery. It seems to me that my John H. and Ellen W. BONES could be related to your 3rd. gen. John who wound up in Montgomery/Floyd as did my EPPERLY/EVERLY line and eventually my PAYNE line. Do you have any updated materials on your Mont. Co., VA. line? I would certainly appreciate any info you may have. Thanks Dean, Hope to hear from you soon. BTW, any idea an the ancestry of the John EVERLY who m. Margaret BOHN. My earliest EBERLE ancestor is Hans Jacob who arrived on the St. Andrew in 1752 From Rotterdam to Philadelphia. Thanks again...Chuck Jennings. _____________________________________________ ~~~*******Hidden on the northwest edge of the shadows cast by the "Windy City"***~~~~~~~ || | | H | | X | | X o o | | X o o | | X o o >>
