He was the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Division 3, Augusta, Richmond Co, Georgia. Joshua was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in 4th Ward, Augusta, Richmond Co, Georgia. He married Pamella R. Boggs in St, Paul's Episcopal Church, Augusta, Georgia, 8 Sep 1858. Pamella was born in Georgia 1834. Pamella was the daughter of Archibald Boggs and Mary A. Unknown.
