Hello all, New information on my line has become available through contacts in Galva, Illinois. My Grandfather was born in Ohio in 1855. He moved to Illinois at age three. His father was George W. BOGGS, and his mother was Mary A. ? BOGGS. My grandfather was a "depot agent" for the Rock Island railroad at LaFayette, IL from 1881 until his death Sept. 10, 1920. My great-grandfather was a farmer near Galva. My grandmother, Clara Drusilla FINKLE BOGGS (b. Sept. 28, 1867, d. Jan. 1958)was the daughter of Thomas J. FINKLE and Rebecca SADLEIR FINKLE. Clara BOGGS was a correspondent for LaFayette to area newspapers from 1911-June 30,1954. She was also the librarian at the town library in LaFayette, IL from Dec. 1922 to Oct. 1951. Grandchildren of Clara and George listed in her obituary were: Laurance Knight BOGGS, Jr., Juanita BOGGS RATZELL, both of Kansas, and L. Raymond BOGGS of Miami, FL. I wasn't listed because she probably didn't know I was even born. I believe that she and my father were estranged for many years before she died.
