Pam, As I remember it ,the Blue Fugates were one family with the genetic condition that you describe.They may have had Melungeon ancestry but there were many other Melungeon families who did not share their condition.It was unique to their family.Melungeons are a wider group of mixed ancestry families.If anyone feels I don't have it straight let me know.I'm open.
