    1. Re: [BOGGS-L] Matilda Lyons
    2. I believe that I am the source of information on James Henry Boggs and Matilda Lyons. They were my gggrandparents. James was called "Goins", because he was always "goin'" somewhere. Apparently he had an aversion to work, even though he had a large family to care for. He was a Civil War veteran and a brother, Nelson, was killed in his presence just about 200 miles from home in Lawrence County, Ky. This occured just a few months after they enlisted. There is one important error in the account of the children of James and Matilda's son, Lewis Franklin Boggs, my ggrandfather. He had one illegitimate child, a daughter, Fanny Tilson, before he married Mary E. Johnson, who was also his second cousin. Lewis and Mary had five children, three girls and two boys, including my grandfather, Harry Boggs. Harry taught school in the one room school near Blaine, Ky., on the left fork of Caines Creek before the family moved to Portsmouth, Oh. about 1918. I can provide further info on this line, if anyone is interested. Bob Cunningham Arnold, Calif.
