It comes from a second once removed who lost several members after the Ohio census in 1850. It appears that Absolom and at least two brothers settled in various counties near Galva, IL. The counties were split in such a way that towns are in one county and the cemetaries for them are in another. That is really helpful, with all the name duplication you mentioned!! I have also noted that there seems to be a tendency for brothers and sisters and first cousing to marry people with the same first names as parents and also last names!! I'm sure it was probably a matter of there being only so many families in a given area, so there was a lot of intermarriage, especially in the early years. We have a lot of that in the Acadian families in this area, as well as the Protestants also. I'll share the information I have, as soon as I can do a better job of digestion.
