IN the book "Cherokee by Blood" there was a john Boggs who lived in Tenn. He was listed as half blood cherokee, perhaps this may have been a tie to the cherokee legend in the Boggs family. He fell in love with a chief's daughter. her name tsa yeh nay nah (if I remember correctly) This is possibly where the "indian princess" tradition began in the Boggs line. John ran the ferry for the prominent cherokee of the day. Also listed was the household of a John Boggs in Tennessee cosisting of 12 or 13 fullbloods of catawba and cherokee. Does anyone know about the "catawba?
