Just a bit of background story I've heard about the many "Lorenzo(a) Dow"s - there was once a very popular preacher who traveled all over Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky preaching revivals and tent meetings - his name was Lorenzo Dow. Since he was highly respected, many parents named their sons in honor of him much the same way parents have always named their children after famous people. I can't produce documentation about this man - but have heard the story from two different sources - I also have a "Lorenzo Dow" in my family line. Lorenzo Dow McTHENY son of Mary Jane BOGGS and John McTHENY. They lived in the Braxton, Clay, Roane County areas of West Virginia around the 1880-1900s. Karen (Drake) Wright
