Hello cousins, Dow was born 1847, at which time his parents were living on Cane Patch Fork, of the Powell River, near Black Mt. They owned 38 acres valued at $1.00 per acre. . In the 1857 tax list, this was in Wise County, but in the 1850 census it was Lee County. There were several Boggs' living nearby. In the 1860 census, it became Wise County. In 1867, they moved back to Lawrence County KY. I have been told that Dow made many trips from Lawrence County to Wise County, and knew the way so well he could make the trip even when he became blind. Dow made the trip to Virginia with his brother Jesse when Jesse killed John Sparks ( Dow may have took part in the killing). John Sparks had murdered their brother Hugh, and 16 year old cousin James Boggs while the two were working in a cornfield. I welcome any and all information on Lorenzo or his family. John Holbrook
