John Boggs Suaggy Boggs Dick Boggs The Georgia Genealogical Society Quarterly Volume III series 3 March 1967 Part of Letter by Dr. Andrew Boggs Ramsey- I am quite confused about the information I read. Everyone appears to be white. We (Indian Boggs) too had a story about three Boggs brothers coming from across the sea, that we used to pass as white after Florida passed a law in 1853 making it against the law to be an Indian. (Note from Edward here...Perhaps so many of us have heard same 3 brothers fable in our families...that perhaps it was concocted in order to hide our roots, much like the Black Dutch or Black Irish cover...What do you think?) Their names were also Robert, John, and an adopted white man named William Livington who deserted from the British Army, and adopted the Boggs Indian name and was accepted as a brother. any help to clarify my confusion will be appreciated. Sincerely yours, (signed, Andrew Boggs Ramsey) Well guys...Edward here again....put your comments on the list, if you wish. (again I do NOT dispute the validity of there being Scot/Irish Boggs...this is quite evident...I am only presenting what documented evidence I have found on the apparent Indian Boggs' . Thanks for reading Maybe it was all so confusing before (the names, dates.etc..) because of this separate line of Boggs....maybe now some knots will begin to unravel....
