Thanks to Bob Cunningham for adding another picture to the Boggs album. The latest addition is a photo of Amanda Lester Gambill Tilson. It was taken in 1914, after she had left KY and was living in Ohio, where she lived out her life near Columbus. Amanda's first husband was Lafayette Gambill, biological son of Henderson Boggs. After his death, she then married Napoleon Bonaparte Tilson, who was a widower. His first wife was Mary Boggs, daughter of Henderson Boggs and a half-sister to Lafayette Gambill. Napoleon (Boney, as he was called) and Amanda didn't have any children together, but he and Mary Boggs had a son, Raymond. The picture of Amanda was on a post card that was sent to her daughter, Nola Mae Gambill Boggs, Bob Cunningham's Grandmother, back to Sacred Wind, KY. The place is still identified on county maps, but there is nothing there today and not much more than a post office in 1914. The post office serviced dozens of farms in the area at that time. Thanks again Bob, for sharing these family photos with all of us. Sharon McKenzie Visit my photo albums at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=573222
Sharon, You may know this story but thought I would add it in case you had not heard. Sacred Wind was so named because of the Camp Meetings and Preaching's that happened there. It is said that some of the speakers were rather long winded, hence Sacred Wind. There still today are found the stone steps of the school and a few other things that will tell one that people once lived there. Sacred Wind is on the left hand fork of Cains Creek near Blaine KY.
