I was reading from an early Boggs Family Newsletter edited by Alice Grady (Vol. II, No. 4, Dec. 1978). I was curious about an article provided by Mrs. Beverley Whyler, Glenn CA. The article was about a John Boggs, son of Robert W. and Abbie Carr Boggs. John was born in July, 1829 in Potosi, Missouri. In 1849, John left for California and became quite a success, settling around Colusa and Yolo counties. Does anyone know more about his parents and if they were connected to the KY Boggs? Were they connected to Lilburn Boggs, one time Gov. of Missouri who also ended up in CA around Sonoma? Thanks in advance, Robert Cunningham Arnold CA
