    3. In my eternal search to find a tangible connection between Sarah Barker, daughter of Hardin Barker and Francis "Fanny" Blevins and the Sarah Elizabeth Blevins who married Henderson "Colonel" Boggs, I came across this interesting census information from Carter County, 1880: 236. Boggs, Elihu W M 21 Farm Laborer K K V Sarah R. W F 25 Wife K K K Amanda E. W F 4/12 K K K - Probably the son of Hugh Boggs and Louisa Whitt 238. Barker, Preston W M 21 Farm Laborer K K K Minnie W F 25 Wife K K K George A. W M 2/12 K K K 239. Boggs, James W M 39 Farmer K V V Sarah W F 39 Wife K NC NC Wm. W M 19 Son K K K Tyree W M 14 Son K K K Doctor W M 12 Son K K K Emla S. W F 8 Dau K K K Henry W M 5 Son K K K Sarah E. W F 2 Dau K K K Barker, Harden W M 87 Father-in-law NC V NC Anise W F 80 Mother-in-law NC NC NC James is also the son of Hugh and Louisa Whitt Boggs, brother of Elisha. Wife is Sarah Barker, daughter of Harden and Anise Wilson Barker, who live with her in 1880. Harden was to have died later in this year, 1880. He was the son if Hezekiah Barker, and brother to Harvey Barker, whose son Hardin Barker married Francis Blevins, the parents of the Sarah Barker I am interested in. 240. Boggs, John W M 21 Farm Laborer K K K Vica W F 20 Wife K K K Not sure if this John is also brother to Elisha and James. Don't yet know who Vica was. 241. Bare, Rebecca W F 34 widow Keeping House K NC NC Rhoda W F 16 Dau K K K Rufus W M 14 Son K K K Harden W M 10 Son K K K Henry W M 3/12 Son K K K This is very interesting, in that this is Rebecca Barker, daughter if Harden and Anise Barker and sister to Sarah Barker Boggs. She was to have married John Bare, who, according to my records, died in 1890, but she is shown here as a widow. Rhoda, Rufus, and Harden are supposed to be children of John Bare's. Henry, shown here as 3 months old, was to be Rebecca's son by a James Boggs....which one...her brother-in-law? Households 242 and 243 were of James K. Lyon and JW Lyon, respectively. The Lyon family is also connected to my Henderson Boggs, as his mother was Matilda Lyon. I just think that it is interesting all these families are so close in proximity to each other. No wonder it is so difficult to sort it all out. Bob Gardner Goldsboro, NC
