    1. Re: [BOGGS-L] John R. Boggs and Usley Ison Family
    2. Below is some data I have on John R. Boggs. I am descended from Jesse Johnson and Nancy Stanfield from their daughter Wiley Johnson and her son Lytle Johnson. I do not have any further information on Jesse Boggs though. 6. WILLIAM4 BOGGS (JOHN O.3, JAMES L.2, JOHN1) was born June 06, 1811, and died January 15, 1871 in Lawrence County, KY. He married ANN JOHNSON September 05, 1828 in Lawrence County, KY, daughter of JESSE JOHNSON and NANCY STANFIELD. She was born January 01, 1812 in Wilkes County, N.C., and died February 01, 1885 in Lawrence County, KY. Notes for WILLIAM BOGGS: Birth and death data from descendent Lucille Graves. b. 6/6/1811 d. February 01, 1855. 3/26/2001 Cynthia Craven gave me her Boggs data which connects William Boggs as the son of John Boggs and Nancy Wells. Her data lists William as b. 6/6/1811 and d. 1/15/1871. Death data does not match what Lucille Graves gave me. William and Ann moved from Lawrence County, KY to Wise County, VA and then back to Lawrence County, KY in 1857. Notes for ANN JOHNSON: Return-Path: <jgraves@mailhost.3wave.com> X-AWOD-LOCAL: Virus scan passive test (version 4.1.2). No action taken. Subject: Ann Johnson and William Boggs Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2000 23:02:32 -0400 x-sender: jgraves@mailhost.3wave.com From: John Graves <jgraves@3wave.com> To: "Fred South" <fsouth@awod.com> Fred, I am responding to your message on the Green Co. TnGenWeb Queries about Ann Johnson and William Boggs. I have about the same that you have on Ann and William's children. I have William born June 6, 1811 and died February 1, 1855 in Lawrence County Kentucky. He was the son of John O. Boggs and Nancy Wells. The Wells and Boggs families attended a Primitive Baptist church which had standards about the same as the Quaker church. They may have even been Quaker in previous generations (No proof--Although the Wells line came from Maryland as best it can be traced). Black slaves were invited to worship with the white folks. The Boggs and Wells families had ties with the Penningtons all of which came from the same area of Wilkes or Ashe Co. NC. These familes tended to stick together and marry into each others familes. Sounds Quaker-like doesn't it? One interesting note I found done by another researcher, Robert E. Polly, is that William had a brother named John O. Boggs who moved to Missouri. One of John O's sons supposedly rode with the Jesse James gang and was known as the One-Eyed Kid. I am a descendant of William and Ann's son, John R. Boggs (b. 1834) and his wife Ursley Ison (d. in 1913) who was a daughter of Isaac and Rebecca Ingram Ison. John R. Boggs and Rebecca had chilren: Johnathan, Rebecca Ann, James J., Martha, Jesse, and Lorenza (male). Martha Boggs is my gggrandmother and she married Jesse B. "Tow Wad" Caudill. Jesse was born in Letcher County Kentucky. Lucille Graves lucy@3wave.com Children of WILLIAM BOGGS and ANN JOHNSON are: i. JESSE F.5 BOGGS, b. 1830; d. 1920; m. (1) KATY BLYTHE; m.
