Mornin', As you will note from my other post, my immediate Boggs family is from Columbus, Georgia. Other Boggses in my line are from Texas, Virginia, Kentucky and according to my dade - "from all over". Any information, I would appreciate sharing. Thanks. Have a wonderful day. Linda
Hello Linda Are your Boggs from Georgia from the Oglethorpe area Mine is John D. Boggs b.1812 d.1881 Atlanta. Lise(harsea@aol.com
Hal, where in Alabama was your H.W. Boggs born? My Boggs were from Alabama also. My ggg grandfather was Benjamin F. Boggs who lived in Perry County, Alabama. He was born in SC between 1810 and 1820. He married Jane Martin in Dallas County around 1840. He lived in Perry/ Hale County, Alabama until he died in 1888. I have never been able to determine who his parents were. If anyone on this list has any ideas I would live to hear them. Thanks in advance for your help! Larry Hal Boggs wrote: > Hello Nancy, > There seem to be many Yankee (WV-KY-OH-IL). Larry, I haven't located H W Boggs in an AL census yet; I will check the counties you mention. I have found his children in an 1880 TX census which shows their father from AL. That's all I have at the moment. Anita, I must have missed that file. I have been through about 40yrs of files of Carter County court cases. I have a copy of Crawford Vs James Boggs, myGGG grandfather but he died in 1849, so the court case went on. The Boggs weren't going to let any of their land go to inlaws. Lydia tryed to get something after James L. died but she had to file suit & I don't think she got anything. In 1850 Lydia age 72 was living in Lewis County with Henry & Mahala Rose. My James had over 1000 acres around Little Fork. Plus he gave another 400 acres to his daughter Rebecca & William Jason Fields in what is now known as Fields Branch. Roger Kennedy
Sue: I would like a copy. Please sent to: eboggs3560@aol.com Thanks Earl
