    1. Re: [BOGGS-L] An unknown Boggs
    2. Howdy possible family person: My ggrg father was William Boggs, (b 8-9-1794 in Philadelphia per family Bible). He had a brother, Benjamine, (b 1-1-1790, perhaps N.J.). I think their father MAY be William on the 1800 FC of Allentown, Northampton Co., Pa. Does any of this ring bells with the data you have? I am stuck. Would love to compare notes if you could shed some light on this. In family love, Dick Boggs (deboggsbus@aol.com)

    2. Hi List, I'm a new subscriber to this list and hope some of you can help me. I've just started researching these names in hope of preparing some sort of little booklet as a surprise for one of my cousins who is not "into" genealogy although she has expressed an interest in finding something about her ancestry. She knew nothing other than her paternal grandparents' names. These names aren't related to me at all, and it's been slow going, but I figure that I need to ask for some help now as I just can't seem to make any more progress. So, now, having said all that. I'm looking for any info, pictures, obits, etc on the following and their descendants: Thomas & Lucinda SMITH BOGGS; James W. & Sarah GOOD BOGGS. Am also seeking parents of James W. BOGGS. Will share what I've have although I'm sure everyone must have more than I do :-) Looking forward to hearing from y'all. Neva

    2. Dear Cousins, Just wanted to let you know that I will be leaving in the morning for Letcher Co., KY, and will be gone for at least a week. There is so little "traffic" on the list, I have decided NOT to leave a substitute list manager in charge. So if anything happens while I am gone (nothing ever does, but there's always a first time), please understand that I am out of touch and unable to answer or take care of any problems or requests until I return. Thank you for your patience while I'm gone! I'll look forward to seeing any postings from my cousins/list researchers while I'm gone. Have a GREAT week! 2. John Watson
    3. I am still searching for a Nancy Margaret or a Margaret Nancy Boggs who must have lived in or around Phila.and m Wm Watson in 1761.We can assume she was born in the late 1730s or early 1740s. One would think this would narrow the search but it has led to nothing.I have much early Boggs info but nothing comes up on this gal!My only guess is she was a prison girl or indentured servant with no family here. There were many Boggs in and around DE.,PA.,perhaps NJ.She almost has to be out of one of the early Boggs families but if so she isn't listed under any of them that I have records for and I have pretty good records. If any one has info back that far that might shed some light, please write me. Aye,John

    1. [BOGGS-L] HENDERSON BOGGS 1862 - 1907
    2. Bob Gardner
    3. This is a fresh query on an old theme. I am looking for any information on my gg-grandfather Henderson Boggs, born 1861-62 to James Henry Boggs and Matilda Lyon in Caines Creek, Lawrence County Kentucky. About 1882 he married Sarah Elizabeth Boggs, whose birth record named her Sarah E. Barker, dau. of Harden and Fanny Barker. Her biological father was William R. Blevins, brother to Fanny Barker, and ? Barker, sister of Harden Barker. Sarah apparently took the Blevins name. Henderson is found on the 1900 census for Lawrence County Ky. along with Sarah and their 7 children. Sarah is next found on the 1910 Lawrence County OHIO census (Ironton), listed as Sarah Boggs, widow, with 2 of her children still living with her. Family story has Henderson with the nickname of "Colonel", who dies around 1907. I do not know exactly when he died, cause of death, nor do I know where he is buried. Sarah died in 1928 and is buried in the Woodlawn cemetery in Ironton, but Henderson is not next to her. There were several Henderson Boggs living at the same time from Lawrence Ky. If anyone has any information on this Henderson Boggs, I would appreciate you contacting me. Thanks. Bob Gardner Goldsboro, NC

    3. Hi Melva and All, Melva do you [or any Boggs researcher] list that Hugh Boggs sued Nancy Farley for divorce on Sept. 21 1869 Harlan Co. KY.? This divorce action is listed in the court records of Harlan County, KY.; but I do not know for sure which Hugh Boggs this is. I also list that this Hugh Boggs was married to Sally Lewis and Becky Browning Noe. Is this correct? There so many Hugh Boggs to research. Thank you for your help. Mother of Tyree was Aretta Cox, 12-13-1830 VA. Charles also had a daughter, Allie, born in Preble County, Ohio, but can't find where Cora was born. Cora died in 1938. You can e-mail me at: lsecretary@yahoo.com. and we can exchange some information possibly. Thanks. Take care, Nancy J. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
