    3. I have a HENRY BOGGS, bn 1850, Butler co. Oh. (my grandfather). He was the son of JOSEPH & NANCY LINN BOGGS. JOSEPH bn Butler co. Oh 1816. At the time I was checking census records, I failed to list the brothers of HENRY. I'm in Florida for the winter and haven't found a source here. When I get back to Indiana in spring, I expect to locate this info. I do know HENRY had an older brother JONAS,but I failed to write down his birth date. JOSEPH & his father THOMAS lived in Liberty twp in Butler co. I don't know if this of any help, as I know there are other HENRY'S, although I don't know their years of birth. LEW BOGGS

    1. Re: Kentucky Boggs
    2. Shirley, I have done some looking up in my data and according to Sadie Stidham's book "Pioneer families of Leslie County" Levi Boggs -b.1835 m.Elizabeth Calhoun- b.1833.They had a daughter named Rebecca Boggs-b.1860(this is my gggrandmother) ,they also had a son who was named Levi after his father. He doesn't have a birthdate with his name but looking at his bros. and sis. , it appears he was born anywhere from1855-?.Here's a run down of his family.I have a feeling the one you're looking for is the Levi JR. Levi Boggs born 1835 d.1914,son of Eli boggs and Sally Eldridge Boggs, married Elizabeth Calhoun born 1833,d.1917 Children: Henry Boggs 1856-1923 ,m.(1) Cyhnthia Singleton,(2) Mary J. Melton Isaac Boggs 1867-1979,m.Rachel Jane Bailey Henderson Boggs b.1875 Sarah Boggs 1878-1926,m. Newt Sturgill Rebecca Boggs b.1860, m.(1) Jimmy York (2) George Joseph Marion Boggs ,m. Anjie Betty Calhon William Boggs b.1869,m. Rhoda Fields LEVI BOGGS JR.***** Silas Boggs b.1863 Since you mentioned your Levi married a Causey daughter ,I thought that maybe this one may be who your looking for.The dates seem to correspond also.If you notice he had a sister named Rebecca (My gg-grandma) ,maybe he named his daughter after her .If that's the case(If youre pretty sure on your dates) then you would be able to fill in the missing information and you and i would be cousins.By the way the first rebecca Boggs born to Levi is the grandmother of my grandmother who is living with me here in CA at the age of nearly 90 so if we make a connection she would be very interested. She has vivid memories of her grandma. If your not sure on your dates and it turns out to be the older than we're even closer in relationship. RoEllen

    1. "Dock" Moran Lee Boggs , banjo player
    2. Dear Cousins, I have found a couple sites you all may find of interest. They are about my 2nd Greatuncle, "Dock" Moran Lee Boggs. There is an area that shows a biography and also information about his banjo playing/writing. The addresses are pretty long, but I think they're worth the trouble: http://www.cdnow.com/cgi- bin/mserver/SID=1639294123/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/ArtistID=FRN- BOGGS*D and http://www.metrotimes.com/music/rr/18/28/rr18_28dockboggs.html This last address was a review of Country Blues: Complete Early Recordings (1927-1929) and showed a listing of personnel (for the album) as: Dock Boggs -vocals and banjo Hub Mahaffey - guitar Hayes Shepherd - banjo and vocals Bill Shepherd - fiddle and vocals I don't know if the other musicians are familiar to this post, but probably somebody out there will either remember them or know of them. Sure hope this is as interesting to the list as it was to me and my family when I stumbled upon it while "surfing" the net one day!! Wishing you all a Blessed New Year! Diana Boggs Mullens

    1. Ezekiel Boggs, Aaron Boggs, et al
    2. To the many fine people who subscribe to this list.. Thanks for all your help. I have been tied up with work the last few months.. my employer bought several companies and consolidated them and I have been involved heavily in the new operations, so research has had to take kind of a back seat, but I always check in as often as I can to see whats new. I recently bought a new scanner, which leads me to the real point of this posting. I am a descendant of Ezekiel Boggs, Aaron Boggs and on down through the Eva Catherine Haney line and into the Hay line. I have a number of pictures and if there is any interest, I would be glad to email them to those looking at the Boggs line, Haney and Hay. Let me know.. either through here or directly at my email adr: rayfri @inquo.net I know that some of you already have some of them because I have been to your web pages. Thanks again for your help. They were my great-grand parents. Their daughter Becky or Rebecca was my grandmother. I would guess them to have been born around the year 1850, give or take a few years either way. Becky was probably born around 1880's. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated. Shirley Butzin
