    2. Mary, we are so glad to have your posting. All of genealogy is a puzzle and each of us has a piece or several pieces. You are so smart to check various spellings. I've discovered that Soundex is always the way to go. Many times our ancestors came here that were illiterate and their accents cause their names to be spelled in some most unusual ways. My own McNulty family was spelled McNealty when they first landed here!
