    1. [BOERNER] BRUENING Family Photograph album including BOERNER Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album which originally belonged to Ella BRUENING and was sold to antique dealers at Ella's Estate Sale. It was recovered in the Northwest, so I'm thinking that this may be Ella BRUENING who died in Portland, OR. The photographs range from 1880's to 1900's snapshot type photographs. The album includes many photographs of Ella and only one other photograph is identified as L. E. BOERNER or BOEMER of Springdale, OH. There are a total of 42 photographs in the album with location identified in: Seaside, OR Prosser, WA Minot, ND Springdale, OH Lake Odessa, MI Middleville, MI N. Yakima, WA Eau Claire, WI St. Louis, MO Lindsay Ontario Canada Rushford, MN Fargo, ND Cannington, Canada Wahoo, NE Red Cloud, NE Owego, NY Marysville, KS Kalamazoo, MI Grand Rapids, MI I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that the album can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    1. a few things to think about
    2. Dear List Members, If you are interested in knowing about other genealogical mailing list available, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller's Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any Rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. Please send this request to [email protected] not to the entire list. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search and from there you can search by dates. If you are having problem and I do not answer you right away, know that I will. I like many of you work full time outside of my home. I am fortunate that I can check my e-mail any time I wish, but know that there are spaces of time I cannot. I always check my e-mail each and every evening and will respond to message as quickly as possible. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. When sending a posting to the list it would help if you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line. Doing this also might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. Many members are on many many lists and when they see a subject line that reads "My Ancestors" they just delete it. 2. When posting a query regarding a surname it would help all of us if you would put your surname in CAPS. This way the members can easily pick out the surnames you are looking for. On the other hand when the entire message is in CAPS we feel that we are being yelled at. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. 6. Now, the hardest thing is when one of our own, a fellow member becomes upset about a posting from one from one of us. It is so hard not to jump in and add our two cents. I want you to know how much I appreciate it when you just let these posting go by and delete them. Know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problem. If you ever have a concern that I might have missed a message that needs addressed you are welcome to contact me at [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) 7. Our list has the gateway open, meaning the messages posted on the board also hit the list, know that every once in a while a SPAM message that is caught by the Board filter slips through the gateway and hits the list before it can be stopped. JUST DELETE IT. By responding to the list regarding the offending message, you just continue it on, and there is not one thing I can do about it at that point. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. It is your list and is here for your benefit. If you have suggestions or comments you would like in future reports, you only need to send them to me.

    2. Mary, we are so glad to have your posting. All of genealogy is a puzzle and each of us has a piece or several pieces. You are so smart to check various spellings. I've discovered that Soundex is always the way to go. Many times our ancestors came here that were illiterate and their accents cause their names to be spelled in some most unusual ways. My own McNulty family was spelled McNealty when they first landed here! 3. My posting was in an effort to find any information about my paternal GGrandfather, Otto Carl Alexander Bahner (also listed as Bohner in some instances). He came from Baerenstein, Saxony, Germany. I have been unable to find information about his arrival, any other family members, etc., so I have been checking variations of the spelling of his last name. There are public records showing his marriage to Virginia Frances McClamroch on Nov. 27, 1878, in Greene County, Arkansas. I am sorry that I have no information about your Boerner ancestors; I am just checking every site which might be pronounced like my ancestor's surname. I am glad that you have been making progress in your search. Best wishes for your continuing search. Thanks for responding. 1. BOERNER FAMILY IN OHIO
    2. Hi! I believe I sent my first email to the wrong address. Since I also made a mistake in the body of the post, I'll just start over.......My GGGrandfather was JOHANNES/JOHN BOERNER. He arrived in the USA either 1836 or 1837 along with his brother LEONARD and possibly his nephews, THOMAS and GERHARD. JOHANNES AND LEONARD settled in the Massillon/Canton area of Stark County, Ohio. THOMAS and GERHARD, who were both Bakers, settled in the Buffalo, New York area. I was lucky enough to find a distant cousin who is still living in the BOERNER'S home village of Oberrodenbach, Germany. He has helped me considerably by checking the church books of Oberrodenbach (now called Roddenbach) but one thing we haven't been able to do is find the ship, or ships they traveled by. He has records stating that Johannes was still in Germany in February, 1837 (he wasn't given permission to leave until April of that year), while I have a paper signed by the Priest of St. Mary's Catholic Churc! h in Massillon, stating JOHANNES and CATHARINE ZEIGER were married there on February 21, 1837. My feeling is that the Priest may have written the wrong year and it should have been February 21, 1838. (pretty easy mistake.....it took me two months to remember to write 2005 on my checks!) However, I've checked all the ships lists that I could find online for 1836, 37 and 38 without success. I'm currently homebound so if there's any one out there who has access to any ship's lists that aren't online, I would definitely appreciate your help. Sorry this was so long. Thanks in advance. 1. postings
    2. Hello, I'd like to invite you to post what you have and what you are searching for to the list. I have next to nothing, so that's one of the reasons I started this list, hoping to find others with information. My great grandmother was Margaret Amelia Boerner and she married William Thomas McNulty in Louisville, Ky. She died 10-20-1968. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing else about her. Please feel free to send out what you have. Perhaps we can help each other or someone will see the postings and contact us. Deborah
