Carol, I forgot to mention.. there were actually 2 men of the Life Guards called E. Riches.. the other one was a Corporal of Horse No.1756.. either could be yours, but the latter one looks more likely. In fact I just checked some information I have on the Long Service and Good Conduct medal awards and No.1756 Squadron Corporal Major Elijah Riches was granted this medal in 1911. A No.1707 Trooper W.E. Riches got the award the year before. Kevin
