Hi List , thanks for your help, but I have a Coldstream guard, regimental no. 1888 James Mellors who has a South Africa medal with 6 clasps, does the omission of Queens and Kings mean that he may have been in the earlier Zulu war? Colin
Hi Colin - You clearly have a QSA although the term QSA (and KSA) is descriptive and 'Queen's' (or 'King's') is not mentioned on it, just 'South Africa'. The South Africa Medal 1877-79 which covers the Zulu War has no more than one clasp indicating the years of service in the campaign. (e.g. 1877-8 or 1879).
