Hello David Do you know which portion of the WO97 records were lost? I applied to PRO and paid my tenner they replied saying I had got the wrong archive. I have foundthe right number beginning WO97 but I dont fancy paying another ten pounds to be told they have been destroyed. I am looking for the records on Corporal Henry Richard Eames of the 2nd Middlesex Regiment. I have a collection of his medals . He served in Ahmednagar before going to South Africa Pamela ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Humphry" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 7:02 PM Subject: Re: [BOER-WAR] Where to start? > Hello Steve & Valerie, > > In general new subscribers to this list are best advised to first check the > introduction page http://freespace.virgin.net/anglers.rest/BWinfo.htm . > However I have a copy of the privately published Imperial Yeomanry medal > roll and can tell you that the National Archive (aka PRO) at Kew has given > you incorrect information. Hello Pamela, I don't know if there's any pattern to the section of records destroyed in the blitz. I've had searches done for the papers of men in the same unit and some are there and some not so it seems to be pot luck.
